2  General / Open Discussion / Re: I got laid off last week on: March 19, 2009, 08:35:47 AM
All i can say is don't let your pride stop you taking the unemployment. I got laid off myself and thought finding a job wouldn't be a problem. i have a MBA and over 10 years of experience to go with it and I am still out there looking. It's not as easy as it sounds finding a new job that pays the $$$$ you want especially in the financial / accounting field.

All I can say is good luck and enjoy riding in the mean time.

Love the family events out there, it's not that busy and a lot of people bring their kids. We took our 12 year old niece and she was loving it. Didn't have any problems at all.
4  General / Open Discussion / Meth lab bust underway at Underhill Farms on: March 21, 2008, 10:11:18 AM

By JILL TAYLOR

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Friday, March 21, 2008

Martin County and federal drug agents are dismantling a methamphetamine lab at Underhill Farms on State Road 714 near the Okeechobee line.

Four people, including Aaron Underhill, have been arrested in the combined operation by Martin sheriff's narcotics investigators and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

The lab was reportedly found in a small mobile home on the property, which has been controversial in recent years because of mud bogging events county officials have said violate the allowed uses for the land.

A search warrant was served shortly after midnight.

Martin County Fire Rescue is also on the scene as the lab is taken apart. Hazardous chemicals are used in meth labs and officials take extreme caution to avoid injury and spread of chemical contamination.

They would have to fire half of the Congress people and some other politicans. Not going to happen, sorry.
11  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Group together For the Monster Truck Show on Nov 17th on: November 19, 2007, 02:22:54 AM
That show su.ked, we were a total of 11 people (all VIP means $25/a person) and all we saw was the fraking clown and three trucks, They didn't have the fire dragon, or the atv races or anything else they advertised. Don't go or try to get your money back the show is not worth it!!!
12  General / Open Discussion / Re: Redneck Classic on: December 22, 2006, 11:27:39 AM
I'm plumb sick and tired of hearing about how dumb us folks are in the South, and we challenge any so-called smart Yankees to take this exam.

1. Calculate the smallest limb diameter on a persimmon tree that will support a 10-pound possum.

2. Which of these cars will rust out the quickest when placed on blocks in your front yard?
(A) '65 Ford Fairlane
(B) '86 Dodge Diplomat
(C) '80 Ford pickup.

3. If your uncle builds a Still, which operates at a capacity of 20 gallons of shine produced per hour, how many car radiators are required to condense the product?

4. A woodcutter has a Chainsaw which operates at 2700 RPM. The density of the pine trees in the plot to be harvested is 470 per acre. The plot is 23 acres in size. The average tree diameter is 14 inches. How many Budweisers will it take to cut the trees down?

5. A front porch is constructed of 2x8 pine on 24-inch centers with a field rock foundation. The span is 8 feet and the porch length is 16 feet. The porch floor is 1-inch rough sawn pine. When the porch collapses, how many dogs will be killed?

6. A man owns a house and 3.7 acres of land in a Hollow with an average slope of 15%.
The man has five children. Can each of his grown children place a mobile home on the man's land and still have enough property for their electric appliances to sit out front?

7. A 2-ton truck is overloaded and proceeding 900 yards down a steep slope on a secondary road at 45 MPH. The brakes fail. Given average traffic conditions on secondary roads, what is the probability that it will strike a vehicle with a muffler?

8. With a gene pool reduction of 7.5% per generation, how long will it take a town which has been bypassed by the Interstate to breed a country music singer?

I betcha thought that this here test was gonna be an easy one, didn't cha? It's okay if ya didn't do all that well. Just goes to show ya there's a whole heap of things that big city book learning don't prepare ya for in this life.

As an added bonus for taking the "REDNECK MATH CHALLENGE", here's some Southerly advice that may come in handy down the road a piece.

. . . Next time you are too drunk to drive, walk to the nearest pizza shop and place a delivery order. When they go to deliver it, catch a ride home with them!

It looks like people are not going to learn. If you don't wear your helmet fine, but don't play with your childrens life. Why are people trying to ruin the fun for everybody, I just don't get it.

Help the Drunk Get Home

Try this and see how far you can keep this drunk man up......Good Luck!
You just move your mouse left to right (no clicking) to keep him walking in a straight line.
The object of the game is to keep him walking, without falling over, by using your mouse from left to right or right to left - you can't see your mouse which makes it more difficult.
Apparently the record is 82 meters, I got 65 meters! And it's in German

18  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Holloween Horror Nights Oct 20 & 21 . . . . on: October 23, 2006, 09:31:41 AM
We went on Saturday night and it was absolutely horrendous. The lines were way too long and the scare zones were so cramped that you couldn’t even see . I was very disappointed, considering we only made it through one haunted house and onto one ride. I know I will be filling a complaint, especially after some of the staff members told us that that Universal mistakenly oversold the tickets. That was $60 wasted, should have gone riding instead.
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: River Ranch on: October 05, 2006, 02:31:18 PM
I don't know if it is dumb or not, once they own the majortiy they can start dividing it and forming a PUD. That would be the end of riding at River Ranch.
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: River Ranch on: October 05, 2006, 02:17:02 PM
I just saw this on ebay, someone is selling 529 acres, for a complete buyout of river ranch. http://cgi.ebay.com/CENTRAL-FLORIDA-LAND-529-52-ACRES-POLK-COUNTY_W0QQitemZ130032751071QQihZ003QQcategoryZ15841QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

22  General / Tech Corner / Re: Kodiak 4X4 450 won't start on: October 03, 2006, 09:36:19 AM
The engine is trying to crank, it seems like it's not getting a spark. I will check the plugs as you suggested and let you know.
23  General / Tech Corner / Kodiak 4X4 450 won't start on: October 02, 2006, 11:22:29 AM
I tired everything, drained the oil changed the filter, checked the air filter, checked belt drive. Could it be the spark plugs? Any ideas or suggestions?

25  General / Open Discussion / PB County meeting to discuss the faith of Mecca farms on: September 19, 2006, 09:22:29 AM
All, lets cross our fingers and hope that they will decided to go with the "Allow no homes, businesses or industry on the property. Limit development to a county park and a connection of marshes planned as part of a "flow way" to carry water through western areas to replenish the Loxahatchee River." This way we might be able to get our first ATV park in Palm Beach County.
