Shortening a chain

my chain is adjusted to wears its as tight as it can go and there is still a lot of slack so i want to take a link out. i have a chain break but i cant find the master link. is there one or do i need to look again??? any sugestions

there is a master link, just keep goin around the chain til u find it, u may have been lookin a lil 2 fast, it looks identical to the others cept for it has the lil clip on it, was hard for me to find mine

it would be on the outterside right?

it should be on the side that faces out but who knows lol it could of been put on backwards and maby thats y u cant find it

The original chains on most quads did not have a master link. They were made to size. I suggest you replace the chain if you have lost all your adjustment. It must really be worn out. Check with www.rockymountainatv.com they have good prices.

what size is the chain on a warrior?

count the links ot get the length and the warrior uses a "520" type chain

Should be a 520 o-ring with 98 links.
If you do not replace your sprockets your just waisting time and money. Your worn out sprokets will wipe out the new chain in a few rides.
If your tight on $$, a HD non o-ring chain and new steel sprokets will cost less than a top 520 chain alone.

replace the chain and sprockets one time ith sidwinders. they are guaranteed. check them out.
