i hate doing things like this, but i haven't got anywhere emailing him, so here goes.

about 1 year ago, i bought a yz426 cylinder off tampaboy813, or Paul Corbin, off of thumpertalk.com.  the cylinder was advertised as "new in the box".  i sent a money order for $135 and everything was fine.  when i got the cylinder, i checked it and it was obviously used, not new.  that wouldn't have been a problem for me, except that the plating had some heavy scoring and was starting to flake in some spots.  so i emailed him back and said how he should've told me about it being used.  he in return, offered to refund my money if i returned it, which i agreed.  i sent it back and waited for my refund, 1,2, then 3 months and nothing.  so i emailed him and asked what the deal was, and he said he was having financial problems, and that he'd send out the money when things were under control.  so, i said, ok, just email me when you're ready.  but no email came after another 3 months, so...

i finally found him on this forum after thumpertalk changed their database, but all i get is a run around everytime i ask him.  i think i've been more than understanding and patient, how hard is it to set aside $20 from your paycheck a week to save up?  i mean, come on Paul.  

so to anyone who's thinking of buying or selling something to tampaboy813, beware.  please don't lock this thread, i'm not trying to slander, i just want my money back.

Sounds like a good ol fashioned rookin'. Sorry to hear it, but the time comes when you got to call a spade a spade. If this fella is willing to ruin his rep over a couple hundred buks, all you can do is let him hang his self. I have to say, and im sure you realize it by now, you shouldve kept the goods until the refund was received. Y ou cant take a receipt to wal-mart and say hey i bought this big screen here last week and now i want to bring it back, but i cant do it today, can i go ahead and get my money back?? The fact that he wasnt honest with the sale to start, shouldve tipped you off. From the way it sounds, you were the bigger man in this situation, and that alone is worth more than the money lost. Just keep in mind that what comes around goes around and one day sooner or later people like that usually get it back ten fold. Just my two cents and its always a good thing to make people aware of things like this. BUT OF COURSE THIS OPINION ONLY COMES FROM HEARING ONE SIDE OF THE STORY!!

I told you when I had it I would send it then you told me you would like parts off my YZ426...so then I asked what you wanted you said cams I could not sell you the cams they were spoken for. then you never got back with me I will send the money on my next pay day OR Pay Pal today if you have it.

PS: the cylinder was good its being used in a nothing bike as we speak...I think this was a hey I dont want it after buying it.
I was a nice guy to even offer to give you have the money.

i don't need any parts off your bike other than the ones i requested, at least i was willing to trade.

and the cylinder could be used, but its hardly in the "new in box" condition that it was advertised as.  for $60 more you can buy a new one, it costs more than that to have it replated.

yes, you were a nice guy to refund me, but YOU offered.  i looked at my money order receipt and its been since 10/7/04.

From what I know of Paul, He is not a scam artist.This sounds like a lack of communication on both sides. I'm sure that Paul will live up to his end of the deal. These things happen sometimes and as long as they get  worked out then hopefully everyone will be happy. Good luck to both of you on this. It's a shame when friendships are frayed over lack of communication.
