anybody know anything about the rainbow people?, they are pouring in salt springs. we were told to keep our trucks locked while at the stores or gas stations in salt springs???

yeppers, they will rob you blind, heard many stories about suspecting them for stealing a variety of items through out the forest and camp grounds

Odie, My Mother lives in Salt Springs and told me about these people, the lowest of the low lifes. They live out in the Forest, live off the land, B.S. like that. Don't send their kids to school, just real dirty people. And yes, keep your stuff locked, or have someone stay in the truck while you go in the store.

I think they are staying at shanty pond just east of salt springs this year. there is a policeman in the stores keeping a eye on them,the big group will be there from 2-14-05 through march.they look like left over hippies from the 60`s?

I was camping at Big Scrub last Spring and someone stole helmets, gas cans, and tools from our site and several others. Ranger said it was probably the rainbows.

rainbows didnt steal it,locals did.park at the sink,walk up to take a swim left your stuff on your bike came back and it was gone???most dont have vehicles,never met one one a quad or bike.they are mostly good people.sounds like bigotry to me.there's n words and black folk.there's rednecks and good ole boys.etc,etc,etc....think it thru.

may sound like bigotry, but it aint and anyone who lives out in Salt Springs know them and know to keep everything locked when they come floating in to town on cloud nine because they're high.

They've been coming around for at least 15 years that I know of, always about this time of year, very rarely do they have vehicles, and very rarely do they care about anything other than stealing whatever isn't bolted down.

Last year they were staying off the side of the road on 90 about a mile or so West of highway 19 and had many campfires going off in the woods right there,,,,no campgrounds anywhere nearby, but they just picked a spot and squatted.

I can't stand them, and I'll say it again, I can't stand them.

My wife and I were up that way Wed. looking at property. We had lunch at the resturant by Elite. They were everywhere, we were about done eating when a group walked in and sat in the booth behind us. Let me tell you they were the stinkinest, nappyest, hairyest, discusting, nasty,nasty, nasty. We had to leave they stunk the place up so bad.
