Depends on what kind of racing you are doing. If it is MX I would say suzuki ltr450, xc racing I would go with the honda 450r.

the ltr 450 is already 49" wide.  Best oem shocks.  Buy a cherry bomb ($35.00) for it and it has about 44 hp.  Very balanced in the air.  Oh and the wheels are some of the strongest oem's.  I have friends with hondas running ltr wheels.

I heard that they were not all they are (were) cracked up to be.  Many stock ltrs have whipped them in drag races and they are not a very good stock mx quad.

well i like the kawi and it looked like josh creamer was hiting some huge S@#t on his stocker so i dont know

He's a pro, give him a z-250 and he'll do the same stuff. The kawi seems to be more of an xc oriented quad, with the reverse and all. For mx the lt-r is most prepared out of the box. If you base your opinion on what you like, theirs no reason for this thread then.

according to the august 2007 dirtwheels magazine the yfz450 is the winner of the 450 shootout..they included the likes and dislikes for each 450(the kawi,suzuki,honda, and yamaha)..the kawi comes with the most hp out of the box with 40 and the others were all around 39 i think

if i rember correctly it said the yfz was fastest out of the four. the suzuki was the best for motocross and the honda was the best for the woods and the yfz was not that good besides being the fastest out of the box.

i would say the Dukie is due to it being so wide out of the factory. The fastest would be the yfz. all i have heard about the kawasuckis is that they lack the motor even a built up motor. i haven't seen one kawi get the top 10 in a holeshot yet in a pro race.

The Kfx is nice, but has anyone noticed the a-arms are bolted into an aluminum frame with probably 1in bolts. Hit a tree and you rip one of those a-arms right off and the frame would be done.

I was at the last Hare Scrambles race of the seaon in Palatka and saw a KFX450 nail a tree really hard and it took the brunt of the force on the left a-arms and did no damage to the quad, but the rider was not so lucky.....

I dont know, but the ATK bikes seemed to come pretty much outfitted from the factory.

But when KTM comes out with the 450mx and the 525xc....They will dominate.

Just out of curiosity why would you post a topic asking for peoples opinions and when we try to give them to you, you retaliate by telling us how good the KFX450 is or could be?? i mean you have obviously made up your mind as to which is the best so why ask for our opinions if you dont even care about them?

The KFX has an aluminum sub frame.

A rider of my caliber would most likely bend that after a few of the monster jumps I like to hit. I frickin' crazy.

However, I imagine it might be a decent trail bike for people who like to take it nice and easy.

Honda!   the Suzuki  is the widest but if you read the shoot out it has the worst shocks! and the kawi only won in high altitude and the yfz was the best on the mx track, but the yamahas do break down the most!  the only thing they didnt like about the honda was the look...but it was the fastest and handled the best and jumped the furthest and if you plan on building a race bike and spending money  then defiantly honda, they are the most reliable and they are the fastest bikes especially when build up!....but dont rule out the can am from the videos on it and all the stuff Ive read it seems pretty awsome but ugly lol

i  would say stay with yamaha or honda, the yamahas a lil faster (and i have one so im a lil biased im sure) but im sure the 450R would be less mant. but i have yet to have any problems out of my yfz also (knock on wood)
