i know its a silly question but i have NO clue what oil weight to put in my 97 honda 300ex? could someone help me out with what oil weight i need?

10w40 or 20w50. Make sure you get oil for a motorcycle. I know  alot of people will argue the ponit that regular oil is OK. Regular oil has Moly in it. Oil made for a wet clutch in a motorcycle/ATV doesn't have moly in it. Moly makes the clutch slip.

your owners manual should tell you wich oil you should use
