1  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Riding TODAY on: February 15, 2010, 09:01:45 PM
what are the hours of operation this time of year and the cost? I went to the website and I could not figure out whether they were open every weekend or not.

at that age if you are allowed not to have insurance i wouldnt get it i have my R1 insured through my dad as the driver and he is 55 and has a harley insured too and it is still just under 2k a year. my friend has a gsx600 and he is 24 they quoted him over $4000.
3  General / Open Discussion / Re: 5A on: November 19, 2007, 11:09:16 AM
we were up there yesterday there were quite a few people out there. We had one run in with some hunters that didnt want people to go past them but that was early in the morning. You can park on the 5A side just park on the other side of the road across from the no parking signs, we have seen cops there and they dont mess with you as long as you are over there on that side.

yea i was just there last weekend and it is still open but it is dry
5  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / Re: Just A few More on: March 29, 2006, 10:10:47 AM
yea that wouldnt be a bad idea but i dont think it would help there. The brush is very tall and think except where the trails are and it is pretty much impossible to see around corners.
6  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / Re: Just A few More on: March 29, 2006, 08:41:08 AM
yea there is always accidents but that is no reason to close a place. You just have to assume that they are going to happen no matter what especially where there are a lot of tight turn that you cannot see around. That is what happend to me it was a really sharp right turn and there happend to be another atv on the other side. That is why my dad makes me ride first figuring i can take more of a beating than him. lol

that is ridiculous i was out there saturday as well it was packed but all you have to do is wear a helmet. I was in a head on collision that day not too fast but my little raptor did not stand up too well to the Big bear 700 4x4. I dont want the place to close it is the best and closest riding where i live. Well i hope they dont close it.

where was that last set of pictures taken at? i have not seen those areas out there before and i thought i had been everywhere
9  General / Tech Corner / Re: Raptor 350 collision. Help on: March 27, 2006, 11:38:19 AM
thanks for the reply but buying a new frame is probably out of the question i guess i will either have to fabricate something or i guess i cant have headlights or fenders anymore.
10  General / Tech Corner / Raptor 350 collision. Help on: March 27, 2006, 08:59:51 AM
Ok well it was a head on collision with a large atv. I figure i can replace all of the broken pieces, headlight & bracket, the 2 electronic pieces in the nose cracked, plastics and a new bumper. My problem is that the two brackets/braces in the nose, the one that holds the plastics and the other that has the electronics connected to it are bent down into the frame which i assume is the wrong direction so can you buy the brackets and weld the new ones on or do you have to fabricate new ones? Thanks

i need to get some practice first since i just got it but that is fairly close to me so i may bring the raptor 350 out to race. I looked on the site but did not see where it said anything about quads, although i may have missed it. thanks

are those quads that you guys are riding or are they dirtbikes?
15  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Scottsmore March 25th on: March 22, 2006, 09:10:48 AM
I think my dad and i are going saturday morning as well as long as i can pick up my new quad friday night. I have not been in awhile but last time it still had a lot of water on the ground so if you are a 4x4 no problems but it was pretty deep in some areas. I would think it has dried up since in only rained a little the other day and other than that hasnt rained in awhile. I should have a Raptor 350 and my dad has a Kawasaki Lakota 300 we usually try and get up there by 9:30. Let me know if you want to ride we dont usually ride too fast but let me know.

16  General / Open Discussion / Re: ALL TRASH!!! on: March 22, 2006, 09:05:02 AM
yea i go to 5A allot b/c it is close but i am just waiting for them to close that down b/c of the trash and burnt cars. It is ridiculous the amount of people that actually go there and then to see all this trash you would think they would pick up after themselves so they could continue riding there. I do know that allot of it comes from partying kids but i guess there is nothing we can really do about that just make sure you pick up your own stuff.
17  General / Racing Scene / Re: Ocala Thunderbowl Quad Flattrack Sat April 1st on: March 22, 2006, 08:46:43 AM
What kind of quads can race in the beginner class? I am going to be buying a raptor 350 and have heard with some work they are pretty fast. I know i cant keep up in any of the open classes much less a beginner if there is a banshee running.
18  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Anyone riding Ocala National Forest or Croom on the 25th? on: March 20, 2006, 02:51:30 PM
if i can get my new atv i would like to maybe come out and meet you guys at ocala, my dad would probably come too. I would be a raptor 350 and a lakota 300.

20  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 06:47:19 PM
yea thank you all for your replys i will probably get the raptor 350 and try and find a good tire for water/mudding so i have the sport power but the tire to get me through the tough stuff.
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 06:27:09 PM
thanks i think that may be the way to go. I do not see a particular problem with either bike just trying to find one that is perfect which is probably asking to much
thanks
Jason
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 01:20:29 PM
well i do not want to disagree with you but on the yamaha website the new wolverine 350 do not have 4wd they are only 2wd. yea i would love to get the wolverine 450 but it is kinda getting up there in price. keep the input coming. thanks
Jason
23  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 10:05:22 AM
the newer model does not have 4wd so i guess i do not need the 424 but if it still performs pretty good in 2wd mode i will probably get it. i am sure the newer model is a little faster b/c it does not have 4wd. I am definatly not a big person i only weight like 145lb so if it is still some what sporty and fun to play around on it should work and i can switch with my dad which is lakota is more sporty and we can trade off he is cool with that but then we will still have an atv than can go through the mud and pull the other one out. thank you all for the imput any more is great. thanks
Jason
24  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 09:00:41 AM
how about a top speed comparison what do you guys think is the top speed of the raptor, wolverine and the 300cc kawasaki lakota. thanks maybe this will help. I want something sporty that wont get stuck. if that is possible
25  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raptor 350 or Wolverine 350 on: March 17, 2006, 08:47:45 AM
how does its speed compare to the raptor itself is it a lot faster than the wolverine just b/c it is lighter and the chain drive instead of shaft. i appreciate your imput that is why i asked i am trying to find the right bike that i wont be disappointed with after i get it.
