Where is Rodman Dam ? I was out there last week looking for it. I was told it's on the dirt road 77 east of 88 !
actually if your at the intersection of FR77 & FR88 you would go north on 88 and theres the pit, the resevoir is just beyond that...here are the approximate #s to find the Longleaf Trailhead at the Rodman Resevoir 29' 30.060N 081' 48.955W

Are you allow to park at rodmans damm pit still? YES, I was there today and all is well... The Longleaf trail runs pretty much right next to the pit and the Rodman Trailhead is located at the pit so I dont see any problems

I went and rode the Hog Valley trail this morning. Overall it was a good ride no problems and despite heavy clouds and even thunder a few times we never saw rain. The trail is very similar to the trails around big scrub. Several trees had fallen and had to be moved from the trail to become passable especially for sport bikes and kids. The trail was dry and had very little mud. I must say it is marked very well and not hard to follow. The only complaint I have is that alot of sections really arent cleared out enough. These are sections that are either new trails that were just cut or trails that have had very little use over the recent years. I guess they will get better with time and use...Anyhow anyone coming up this weekend thats interested I should be back up that way ready to tackle a new trail

Not having a green sticker is like not having the registration for your car when you get pulled over. You could have your quad impounded if you don't have one and you are on state land. All it does is help Law inforcement tell it's your and that it's registered.
WELL SAID THANKS, By not having a sticker you give the officer another reason not to give you a warning! If you cant get a sticker before your ride at least bring a photo copy of your title and some sort of ID

hey fox if I was you I would bring my title! You know how some of these people are at these places (on a powertrip)! dont give them any reason to make you come back! As long as your title is already in your name it is very inexpensive.

I am going riding in the north end today to check out the new trail system...I dont really know for sure how much of the south end is still open since they are working on phase 2 in that area of the forest. If you want to ride some trails that arent all whooped out you may want to try the north end or even the new trail in the south end named Wandering Wiregrass. It is located in the south end of the forest east of big scrub and hwy 19...The WW trail is 16.7 miles long and it should be groomed from what I am hearing! Yes forest road 588 has trails all over both sides but they are pretty beaten up since this area of the forest gets the most use from atvs. I know alot of out of towners love to ride and camp at big scrub but personally I think its to busy and the trails are way too bumpy for my blood! Let me know what you want to do and we'll try and get together...

Yes green stickers... looks like sticker that goes on boat...they are required by law, but officers seem to be ok with title or bill of sale for now. Nice thing is they are not renewable therefore they dont expire its good forever believe it or not! The rangers are getting a little tougher when it comes to the stickers and having ID...I watched 2 people get a $500 ticket each for riding in the water along a pond bank and the officer said he might have given them a warning instead if they had the proper stickers and some ID on their person Please learn from their mistakes!

i heard big scrub was closing for atv rider is this true i think selling our bikes is the best move !!!!! If you would sell your bikes due to the fact big scrub is closing you are missing alot of good riding throughout the forest!!! Honestly big scrub sucks its mainly all whooped out and beat up, personally I would rather ride anywhere in the forest besides big scrub the locals call it BS and that not for big scrub Also if you love big scrub so much and it closes its only another 30-45 minutes to delancey west and you can ride your bike out of the campground just the same!]

Hello, I went to lake delancey campground today and checked it out for the first time! I must say it looks to be a way better place to stay when its sweltering hot out!!! The whole campground is heavily wooded with tons of shade...No electric or bath/shower houses but very nice in my opinion compared to dying out in that open field baking away a big scrub Luckily both campgrounds are within 30 minutes of my house so I must admit I dont camp anymore but still like to use the camps for safe daily parking Also, I did notice alot of new signs marking trailheads this should make it easier for out of towners without a GPS to find their way!!! I also marked a ton of coordinates and will post them ASAP...

hello, new member here... I dont know where you normally ride but I was out yesterday (brown pond area 595 & SE 183rd ave rd.) and it wanst too wet. we had 2.5" of rain between tuesday and friday night so it made it nice no dust I registered 2 more inches since then but I would imagine with as dry as things have been it will receed quickly! Where do you ride? I live in ocklawaha and my property backs the forest unfortunately im just south of 595 in the restricted boudary area so no motor vehicles are allowed except on numbered roads! Anyhow if you want to go riding I know of losts of different trails with minimal water or mud! Unfortunately I sold my 450 sport quad but I have a rhino and a dirt bike... Jason
