General / Open Discussion / Re: Tires - Important
|
on: July 21, 2008, 07:07:24 AM

This is no secret to anybody that has worked in the tire industry. I have known about dating on tires for over 20 years. Not correctly airing up your tires or high speeds is more dangerous than an old tire in my opinion. Most accidents like that are from over or underinflated tires. They did not mention any of that. They are always trying to scare people to get a good news story. It was good that some people are now informed about the dating.

Went through a tank of gas without the resistor and no mileage increase or anything. Next I will try the resistor on the maf and post any results.

How many amps is realistic with one generator. I did not test for amperage but I put in a 7.5 amp fuse and it blew after about a mile.

Got mine in but no big tests yet. Still need to measure and fine tune everything, but it is working. BigDaddy let me know when you get the electronics done for the f150. I have an f250 with the 5.4 in it and would like to get that taken care of if you would build me something or give me some advice.

450 is plenty reliable. Plenty of free power on it as well. They are very detuned in stock form. The carbs can be very fine tuned and I think that is why people do not like jeting them. Once you get it dialed in they are very fast with a few mods.

We have also said we would NEVER have another raffle. What part of that did you not understand. All I can say to this whole thing is WOW! I work very hard for my money and after this whole thing going down, you will never get any of my hard earned money that I have worked for. There are other places to go riding. If someone else wants to give you there money that they worked so hard for during the week that is there own decision. Just my personal opinion.

They obviously didn't know the laws when they decided to have the raffle and I'm sure they didn't deliberately set out to screw anyone. This is a business they are running and it is their responsibility to find out the laws before hand, PERIOD!!!!! Seems like several laws have been broken here with nothing done to correct it. They are lucky that nobody has gotten a lawyer or the state involved. I'm guessing that the state will not be too happy about an illegal raffle. Oh and how about the IRS.

You would think someone from L-cross would reply since they are always peddling their events on here. I do not see how you can take the money and not issue a prize. I was thinking of going to one of the events but I think this is making up my mind not to. Just my opinion.

General / Open Discussion / Re: HID's for a 05 F350

People that are melting everything are just using high wattage bulbs. HID bulbs use less wattage and run cooler. My Mc cullough kit was $300 and bought it almost 3 years ago without one problem and I use them alll the time. I have the 5000k bulbs. Factory HID's are 4300k . The higher the kelvin rating the bluer they are and less light they will produce which is defeating the purpose of them. The 8000k and up bulbs are more for looks and the blue light is also more blinding to oncoming traffic. The only reason you see the BMW's and such with the purple color is because of the reflectors on the projector light fixtures. Mine are on a 05 f250

There is also no more 60" wheelbase rule at Corbitt , it says no all terrain vehicle. This will leave it up to wildlife officials to dictate what is allowed out there. Just stick to the main trails , show up on clean-up day and make everyone happy. Enjoy the outdoors and don't be an idiot. Also respect the hunting seasons by finding out what areas are hunted and when.

General / Open Discussion / Re: TRX450R OR YFZ450?
|
on: June 09, 2007, 01:24:07 PM

I have had both and like the YFZ a little better for power. I think it has more power potential with the stock cams and internals for just bolt ons. You need to do more to the TRX to keep up with the YFZ and same bolt ons. For trails I would prefer the TRX as it does not seem as much of a race bike. I would say the TRX is a cross between the YFZ and a 400ex. Comfortable as a 400ex but has the power to keep close to the 450's. Stock for stock with no mods I would say they have the same power. Open up the YFZ and open a can of WHOOP A;; ! If you want the best of both worlds just buy a Raptor 700 and get a full exhaust and fuel management and you will have some fun. The raptor will be more reliable in the long run. Just my opinion, i'm sure someone will call me a retard and disagree with me.

You would know how to get there if you owned property there. Not trying to be an ass but it is illegal to ride there unless you are a land owner out there. Even then Okeechobee county opted out of the law. So it is actually illegal to ride out there period. Don't know about you but i don't want a $6000 atv impounded.

I am a native to palm beach county and feel that Florida has been ruined and is nothing like it used to be.I miss the days of going to the place you are talking about or as we referred it as the Okeechobee woods. At one time you could go anywhere and find woods or a place to ride or just hang out. I could name 10 places easily that were acccesible 15 years ago that you could ride or just hang out with all your freinds."In Palm Beach County". Now all the kids can just go to the mall and hope they do not get shot. It is so sickening how everyone is just worried about putting money in there pocket. It is so out of control!

It is illegal to ride out there period. Even if you have a registered atv. Some people just ride anyways till they get caught.

Let's not forget to mention stolen quads, slashed tires, camps broken into and forest fires by arsonists. Also it is hunting season so watch what time you ride and where your riding. And don't ride in front of the gun range. Other than that have fun.
