I have others but the videos are too long for youtube
Cool videos Gino! You might consider looking into some software where you can do editing and such, I use iLife on the mac but there are others. it's time consuming but fun. With all the great footage you get they should come out sweet! I remember you strapping that camera to your chest for the zip line, so I had to poke around for that one...it was worth it.

Jayman,
I hope you weekend at DFMR was awesome! I wanted to tell you how cool it was to meet you at DFMR Sat. it was nice to talk about flat and TT at Ocala and catch up on the racing scene - I sure miss it... It was real cool of Tammy to invite me along that day (after finding me on the trail riding solo not able to cross a mud hole for fear of getting stuck) Everybody was so nice and riding with a group made things safer. You're friendly group made my day at DFMR GREAT! Hope to be able to meet up with you again!

Hey Pete! good to hear from you. Back is doing good. hope all is going well for you, how's the Canondale doing? I'll drop you a line if I end up going and we can catch-up at the race! Thanks for the thumbs-up on Motoplex, the wife is nervously on board right now so I really need to have the first few events go off as injury-free as I can make them!

I am and am considering racing the SSQAS XC event on Feb 20th. I read online that the track will start on the MX course and then go into the woods and I read that motoplex has two MX courses advanced and intermediate with all the jumps being table tops on the intermediate track.
Which MX track will the XC course use and how much? The reason I ask is I don't care for MX track riding and not real big into jumping and with the my travel being 4 hrs from central Florida I am trying to determine if I should try this event?

Here are a few examples....
Broke C5 and fused both C5 and C6 in my neck = $6900 of payout. I was out for 3 weeks. Grade 4 seperation (not dilocation) of shoulder = $3800 of Payout. I was out for 2 weeks. MRI, MCL, Meniscus Surgery of knee = $$4100 payout. I was out for 2 weeks. Loss of right middle finger = $5400 payout. Out for 5 weeks.
When you say "pay out" what are you referring to? final cost to you of injury after ins? or is this what they paid towards your medical cost?

As anybody on here can probably tell you, I am an expert at needing insurance for injuries caused from racing. First of all.... Do you have health insurance at all? If so, then AFLAC is an awesome way of protecting against injury. I personally have paid my bills and made money on a couple of injuries. Enroll in a Accidental Injury Plan and a Disability plan. The Accident Injury Plan pays a certain dollar amount per injury and item need to evaluate injury. Things like MRI's, Xrays, braces, and tons of other stuff. They pay per injury for things like bones, sight, loss of limb, etc. And I felt every single one of them at the 25 degree race and practice at Bithlo this weekend!!!! This coverage costs me a little under $150 a month, and that includes the Accidental coverage for both my kids as well. Absolutely would not race without it. Hope this helps!! jt Thanks so much this sounds like what I need to look into as I do have health ins. thanks for a very helpful answer!

I was wonder what type of insurance people have for competing in racing events?
I am looking to get back into woods racing (FTR Harescrambls) but my wife is not a big fan right now as I had a bad crash a few years back and was down for a few months with a two broken vertebrates. The company I work for stood behind me payed my salary until I was able to return to work so we were fine but it really made her very concerned that "next time" we won't be as fortunate? I am still with the same company and in fact I now work from my home studio so if I got laid up again as long as I can get to a computer I can work.
My crash was on a flat-track racing ATV's and have told her that I won't be returning to that but that I would like to compete in the FTR hair scrambles. I raced a quad scramble the week prior to my flat track crash and the FTR event was awesome and I would like to do more.
So my thinking is to see about how other families insure themselves against potential medical/income issues from racing in events like the FTR and such and see about showing her how I can possibly aquire more insurance and see if that might help my situation.

Well Torri Racing has hoosiers for 80 bucks a piece and then motosports outlet has rims for around 30 bucks a piece so pretty much 400 bucks!
"Preety much 400 bucks",...more like $440.00 But that's still a good deal!...so good, I looked at there rims and did not see any "for around 30 bucks a piece" but that's not to say there not there...but, I did see the Douglas red lable rims that mine are mounted to and there priced for $247.96 and mounted with your $80.00 hoosiers that's $567.96 and then you have to have them mounted and the last set of ATV tires that wal-mart mounted for me was $8.00 a tire so don't forget another $32 for mounting now your at $599.96...A few pennies shy of $600.00!...Mine still sounds like a good deal at $400. Oh, and what about tax on those tires if your place is local?... BTW my tires and rims have already SOLD so someone else thought they were a good deal to.

Hey man not to bust your bubbles but I can get brand new tires and rims for 400 bucks!
Bubble not busted....Buy them if you can sounds like a good deal, I paid more. new tires average $90.00 each and that's not mounted on a Douglas red lable rim...Last I checked new tires on rims were $500-$550 without shipping and I am offering to deliver them to Thunderbowl a 4+ hour round trip for me...that's not a bad deal buy any means. And the new owner is going to get a new set of chrome lug nuts to match the chrome rims as the Suzuki uses taperd lugs for their stock rims and these rims use the flat lug nuts...call me crazy!

I will be posting an auction on ebay for my rims and tires once I clean them up and take some pics. the tires and rims are off a Suzuki LTZ400 and I belive that they also fit Honda's bolt pattern. They are american racers with 2-3 races on them in almost new condition mounted to Douglas red lable rims. I am going to list the auction with a buy it now price of $400. I will also be listing a front and rear lowering kit for the Suzuki LTZ 400 in a seperate auction.
Let me know if your intrested or have any questions. If you want them and race at Thunderbowl I can deliver as I would like to say hi to a few racers while I'm there. I broke my back last time I raced there in September so no more Flattracking for me.

First time being able to sit at the computer for a bit for any length of time and I wanted to sasy THANK YOU for all the support, best wishes and prayers that have been sent on my behalf!...I trully belive that the prayers are why I can still walk and have no spinal cord damage...Thanks to all!!!
I am going through home therapy now and will progress to out patiant therapy. I am walking every day more and more around my house and try to stay positive about things. I really hate the burdon I have put upon my wife! She has to take care of me , the house, the yard...everything!
I don't think I will be able to ride any time soon, the brace I have now is for 8-12 weeks then I think I move onto a differant brace?...not to sure there. Just turned 43 and I am healing a lot slower these days. The bummer was I was comming off a little high from taking first place in the begnier class at the FTR Quadscramle #1 the Saturday before my crash at Thunderbowl and now I feel that the racing will need to come to an end...I feel that I am risking to much with it with my loss of work and my wife's loss of work since she now has to care for me has me questioning racing as a hobbie. though we are blessed that our jobs support us durring this mess It really has me concerned.
My wife and I hope to continue trail riding if possiable as we really did enjoy that. The day of the crash we had placed a deposit on a Supercross Toyhauler earlier that day to carry our two quads so that we could include camping with our atving! We have since had to pass on it but do hope to prusue it in the future. On thing that we both have enjoyed was the ATV community, weither it's riding or racing the people we have meet through atving have been GREAT! and neither of us want to give that up! and that includes all the cool people here on atvflorida.com!
So some time next year I hope to run into some of you'all on the trail and give you a firm handshake and a hearty thank you. Well drink a tall cold one and talk about racing days gone past and old injuries, my list seams to be growing.
Mark
PS Thundbowl racers: I hope to make it back to the track in the near future to watch some real racers showing my how it's done!...tip: watch that turn one...it can trip you up. My wife bought me some cool prints of me at Thunderbowl from the photographer that was their that night and they look GREAT! makes me look like a better rider than I am...goes with out saying.

Man, sorry to hear that! That's one I have not broken yet, but as dreth stated I have also heard it is the most popular one to brake in OHV riding. Myself, I have broken both legs at the same times, carry a rod in my right (second one) and broke my right wrist losing alot of mobility in it. Tip: PAIN KILLERS! Heal fast brother!

mudnuri - (cool screen name!) thanks, my little victory felt great, I had some friends there (a buddy that broke his tie rod in pratice that was going to run the open beginer class) along with my wife who all came up to congradulate me as I crossed he finish...that made it awesome! TRX450R - they did not promote me but it is my understanding that one win or three top finishes and your promoted to the C class. I'm in the CFQR - Central Florida Quad Riders club and there a all c riders with the president being a B rider and they were all saying "welcome to C class now" ...kind of sounded like they were looking to run me over or at least give me a little schooling...lol yea, I meet Frankie, I went over and introduced myself, nice guy. that's what I liked about the FTR is the people, everyone told each other good luck. I think he finshed just a few minutes behind my, I'm sure his recovery is the only reason I was able to stay ahead. cubnfrank - I had considered the senior class also being 42 but someone said that there fast racers just older now but not any slower so that's why I figured the beginer class was for me I would switch to the 400 class if i were you, that is what I like about the FTR events is the 400's don't have to compeat with the 450's. I run some flat track events and all the classes from beginer up are all open cc's and it makes it hard to run a 400 against the 450's and with me being a bigger rider trying to run against a 13 yr old half my weight on a 450 is impossiable

Anyway, I'm gettin to old to keep MX-ing, so I'm gonna start reading up on Flattrackin' and keepin tabs on the points...maybe ease my way into this thing. (You got room for one more in this sport?)
UncleRico, I see your from Lakeland, I'm on the northside myself. Try and come out to Dade City and buzz the flattrack there sometime. You can run your knobbies and get a taste for things. I was there last night trying my newly acquired flat track tires. track was tore up a bit from the rains but it was still fun. I met a pro rider there named Jeff that says he is racing Ocala Saturday, seamed like a nice guy. There was just 2-3 quads last night...some times the mx'ers will come over and take some laps...it's very low key, Practice night is Thursdays. Look for me, can't miss me, fat bald guy on a z400. we'll take some laps and tell exaggerated riding stories

Practice at Dade city will not do you too much good for Ocala (Just ask Dave). A little while ago I posted a topic on some tips for First time flattrack racers. Please read it before you race, there are somethings you should know to help avoiding many mistakes that new racers seem to make over and over again.
But it's got to be better than doing nothing right?...Besides, never been on flat track tires before. At Ocala I was running my knobbies the two times I was there so I really would like to get a little feel for these things. I think I remember reading a post about the beginer tips but could not find it. please post a link to it if you can...any advice I can get would be helpful...Thanks

I didnt mean that big of a group pic.. but groups or 2 or 3.. not 30 or so, unless we had a professional camera that could do panaramic shot would be awesome, i could put it at the top of the page like the ATVflorida banner.. I can compose it into a panaramic for you in Photoshop. the best way is to shot it on a tripod so the horizion/background is fixed and they come out great!
