a semi-auto will kick less than any pump action or single or double barrel . part of the recoil is used to operate the bolt which is what kicks out the shell that was just fired . from my experience a 12 guage semi-auto (gas operated) has the same recoil as a 20 guage pump or single shot . oh and also the lighter the gun the heavier the kick . that goes for rifle , shotgun, or handgun .

2005 yfz450 . tried giving the bars a better look by removing brake light switch on right side of bars and parking brake from left side . by mistake a pulled out the wire that allows you to start the engine in any gear with the clutch pulled in . THE PROBLEM ...... now i can only start with the bike in nuetral . HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS besides buying a whole new clutch perch .

General / Tech Corner / HELP !!!! THUMB THROTTLE TO STIFF ON YFZ450.
|
on: December 23, 2005, 09:07:06 AM
|
yeah i know , this has been talked about before but i have always used a twist throttle on my quad . been thinking about putting the stock thumb throttle back on but hate the stiffness . any suggestions . i have read on yfzcentral.com that some guys were cutting the spring in the carb , but then the more recent posts were advising against that assuming that by shortening the spring it would only make the action stiffer .

rockymountainatv.com sells the aluminum ones with the studs already installed in them . ( G-Force is the name ) they sell for about 70 per set . you will need 2 sets . one set for the front and one set for the rear . other brands are graphite or plastic . i personally think the aluminum ones would be better . i had them on my yfz450 and never had any problems .

itp 589 or the new itp xtr radials . these or if you ride in mud . if you dont ride in mud at all i have heard nothing but good things about maxxis bighorns . my wife has the 700 king quad with 27 inch 589 and it handles great . very little loss in power .not even close to rubbing .
