1  General / Where to Ride? / Re: What's the deal with Holopaw/Suburban Estates?? on: February 20, 2006, 06:48:26 PM
This is why S/E gets a bad name.  You people don't have a clue what it is out there. And by the way, it's for landowners only.
2  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Any land owners in Holopaw? on: February 20, 2006, 06:44:21 PM
Get off the S/E subject. If you don't own land out there, you don't belong in behind the gate.  This is why things are happening out there.  And ease up on trashing the place.
3  General / Photo Gallery & Videos / Re: Packed at Scrub today... on: January 02, 2006, 06:41:22 PM
A bunch of us went to Big Scrub on New Years Day and it was aweful.  The rangers where constantly bugging everyone.  And it seems like they are trying to run everyone off so know one comes back.  And the hunters out there were bigger a-holes than the rangers.  It was noon and I couldn't believe the number of people hunting at that time in the heat of all things.  One of them made a comment to me about all the noise that us atv riders are making and they can't hunt.  Last time I checked, Big Scrub didn't say that it was just for hunters.  So like someone said, the hunters might be coming down on the rangers and then the rangers are taking it out on us atv riders.  I think that I won't be going back any time soon.
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: registration decals on: January 02, 2006, 06:21:39 PM
I recently put my registration sticker on my wheeler.  I was told that alot of riding areas such as croom, Ocala, etc. are going to require you to have your atv registered.  Another thing I was told that it's a way for the state to kind of track your wheeler if it's stolen or if there is an accident and such.  The sticker stays on your atv and when you sell the atv then the person who purchased your atv will have to register the atv in there name therefore getting a new sticker to put over the old one.  I just think it's another way for Florida to make money because they started realizing how many atv's are being sold and they have to put their fingers in the koolaid to ya know. Wink

I believe someone is taking everything the wrong way about what I posted about Suburban.  It's nice and all to start a group ride out there, and I never said there was anything wrong with that, but so many people are giving the place a bad rap.  Lighten up.  And who said anything about not being an enviromentalist.  Have a good time out there and don't take everything so seriously.  Grin

Now this is why Suburban Estates gets a bad name.  People that don't really know anything about the place or don't own property out there to understand.  I own property out there and me and my family ride all the time.  Responsibly I might ad. I have a five year old daughter who rides better than most adults, but let me tell you she is geared up from head to toe.

And if you don't own any property in this place, you really shouldn't be in there.  Yes, come in with a land owner and enjoy the day, but there is a big problem of individuals who don't lock the gate behind them and every tom, you know what and harry comes in and trashes the place and makes it the way it is for the land owners.  It has cleaned up out there quite a bit.  Alot of landowners have put in there time to make the roads better.  You only make it what you want to in this area.  But, you have to look on the other side of the coin, it is a place to ride and alot of land to ride on.  Remember, just like driving a car, you have to be in control of your bike and the other individuals.

My husband and I own property out at Suburban.  We noticed a lot for sale with a camp on it.  If you go out to Hollapaw Groves Rd.  straight down it takes you to the gate for Suburban Estates.  There is a number listed that you can call.  Or try and contact an Osceola County realestate agent and they might be able to help you.    It's a great place to ride.  You have to have a key to get in.  Good luck.

Ya know I have to agree with what this person put in the Tampa paper.  My ancestors were Cherokee Indian.  My Great Grandmother was taken off of the Indian Reservation that she was living on.  What's wrong with this picture.  I'm sick and tired of those individuals coming into our country and complaining about every little thing that Americans do.  IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT HERE, FIND THE NEAREST EXIT, AND DO SO!  Just once I would like to go into a store and not have the person waiting on me speak to me in Spanish.  I don't even look Spanish.

And as someone else questioned, What about my rights.  I guess that was thrown out the window.

9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Quad insurance, Its cheap!!!!!! on: June 14, 2005, 09:54:50 PM

I have State Farm for my cars and my home, but when it comes to my wheelers, no way.  Way to expensive.  I called Progressive and I can get full coverage on my wheeler for $150.00/year.  I think that's a deal.

suburban girl, what kind of 4 wheelers do you ride.  There's something out there for everyone.  There's a lot of mud holes (deep)-dirtbikes, sport and utility quads.  Huge trucks w/military gears that go thru some of the mud holes like they were shallow puddles.  There are a couple of jumps for sport quads and dirtbikes.  It's a good time.

Muddy garfield, I'd say it's worth checking out if your in Ocala-I wouldn't make a special trip from WPB to hang out there, though.  Those who live in central FL have very little to choose from.  This place is free and close-different scenery than Ocala.

Right now I'm riding a Trailboss 330 (2005) but I'm getting ready to upgrade to a 4x4.  I like going thru the mud and water, but I don't want to sink her ya know.
11  General / Where to Ride? / Re: What GPS should I buy for Ocala on: June 13, 2005, 09:17:59 PM

To let you know about the GPS.  Garmin is the best on on the market. But make sure it has  a base map - This will have roads in it, and you can add to it later on down the line.  If you don't have a base map, you can pretty much only leave a bread crumb trail.   We've found that the Bass Pro Shop has the best selection.  Good luck.

I've never been out there but passed by it last Sunday.  It seemed like there were alot of riders out there.  Does anyone know how big this place is to ride?
