Does anyone know when hunting with dogs ends in the Wandering Grass loop area?

Just did 50 miles in northern end of Ocala. Wont ever go back because the side by sides have destroyed the trails. Fortunately they don't ride wandering grass.

So have they stopped grooming the trail system on the wandering grass trail. Hasn't been groomed in years.

Cant ever see going there for the size of the park. Just not large enough for a atv park. I think they are counting on there revenues coming from concerts.

Would love to come out and ride but the Centennial trail is a suicide run with all the blinds turns...

Its a shame what has become of the Ocala National Forest. Seems there is no enforcement of any of the laws out there anymore. I actually had a hunter gas  his truck towards me on a atv only trail. Complained to the FWC who is suppose to regulate the hunters. They told me they cant be everywhere in the forest and to take a photo of any violations.(haha) I haven't seen a FWC officer in the forest in years. You have to know if we don't ever see any enforcement officers out there the hunters know there not out there either.

The Ocala national forest is probably a good bet. You can stay at lake Ocklawaha rv park. You can ride out of the campground and there are 150 miles of trails.

Hey Kris any chance Wandering Grass loop will ever be groomed again? Must be atleast 3 trees down for months.

If they are selling an atv newer  than 2001 and they don't have a title then legally they don't own it. Titles have been issued since 2001. And if its older than 2001 you can get a title at dmv with bill of sale. It is still required to have one to ride in Ocala and other areas. It proves ownership. The green sticker has vin number and owners name if called in to prove who's it is.

Croom is 2600 acres vs 400,000 acres. Ocala has lake Ocklawaha campground with a swimming pool.

Only when general gun season opens (nov 23) is it a little hairy to ride with all the hunters. That's when they hunt with dogs. As long as you ride the northern end the don't hunt with dogs and you wont run into too many hunters there. North of hwy 316.

They cut all the tree's down to put in the parking lots. Had to be environmentally friendly.lol

They have 400 campsites. No reservation is usually needed. They don't seem to care about making money hence there 1950's website that could use a little updating. Really beautiful campground and facilities. The staff is also very helpful.

I signed up to volunteer and never got a request to do anything. But did get a call a year later that they wont be renewing my volunteer status because i didnt do any volunteering. lol

It such a shame that the  powers to be dont see the need for one way trails. Atleast clear out the blind turns. I stop riding the northern end due to the dangers. I only ride wandering grass loop where most riders try to ride one direction.

Have to agree with SM63. A thousand acres isnt much for a day of riding. Hope they are able to purchase more land. I have made several trips to DP but only because the have so much to offer. Wouldnt mind shorter trip if FT&T purchase more land. Hard to drive 4hrs when you have Ocala National forest an hour away.

Does anyone know if the mx track 304 wheelers still open?

Really wish they would work on that connector trail. Blind turn every 20 ft...
