Open Discussion / neatv womans racer dies after crash
September 13, 2010, 10:00:43 PM
Angie Maher, K&K ATV Women's Class NEATV-MX racer was seriously injured on Saturday afternoon during practice at Jolly Roger MX Park for round 10 of the series.

She was airlifted to Dartmouth Hospital in New Hampshire where she would undergo extensive testing and monitoring. Unfortunately on the morning of Tuesday September 7th, Angie would pass away from the injuries she sustained during her accident. The Maher Family needs all of your hopes and prayers during this time of struggle. Angie was a tough, kind hearted racer and person, and as she would say "Keep 'er pinned!,"

my thoughts and prayers are with her family

No... The 250EX is shaft drive the 300EX is chain... The 250X will fit

the 250x is a chain drive also its was the same quad as the trx300ex but has the 250 bore and kick start the 300ex was the new model that came with bigger bore and electric start. he's stuck the trx250ex is shaft drive and swingers between the 300ex 250x or 400ex will not interchange

Your son likes to eat dirt??????

hmmmm I built that engine  :)

I've seen 90cc mini quads spank 400's in sand drags LOL so a 400 racing a 450 isn't odd or crazy it comes down to rider and motor

like the old saying goes there is no replacement for displacement!
#12
I got 1,000.00 in my pocket now so let's go. sunshine drag strip is 1/8 mile and 10 min from me.

put up or shut up!!

you let me know when your ready

How many cc's????????

I guess we can't answer this question? Anyways if you stuck  as much money into that dinosaur as a 450r you would be screaming a lot better than a 8.4 in the 1/8. The 400ex is only capable of some much horsepower do to a old fashion air cooled system with a lousy cylinder head port design that isn't even close in flowing the numbers to put up good horsepower numbers a 450 can. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.......
From what I saw on that video that those were stock 450s and a stock 700, not to impressive you ask me and if you feel like growing some balls go try to sell that bs over at trx450r.org. Where some of those guys are running in the high 6's in the 1/8.  :ouch.gif rolback1

The guys running 6s have close to 80hp, theres alot more then cams and bores on those quads, %90 chance they are on NOS along with bores and cams, A turbocharged 450 runs in the high 7s.

In order to go in the 6s, you have to be over 100mph.

And those were not stock 450s or stock 700s in that video, try again....lol.
When ever your feeling lucky bring that dinosaur down here to st.pete and we'll take to the track and run them down the 1/8 mile with my motocross trx450 that puts out 65 hp. bring your pocket book. 8)

this is getting good. i'll put up eric's money and I got a hole stable full of ltr's banshee's and a LT500R that will spank a 400 or 440. lets stop kicking tires and let's light some fires!

and if chillin showes up with his banshee the we all better put up cause I have been told about his banshee. and he can cut a good light and ride it.

they make a repair kit for this problem in the single overhead cam 4.6 and 5.4 V8's it comes with a insert and new spark plug and a shorter boot for the coil its around 60.00 at the local car quest or napa I have done this repair to a customer car and it works and you dont have to pull the head.

Tech Corner / Re: Carb question
June 09, 2010, 09:54:29 PM
your going to have to pull it off and clean it out by removing all the jets and making sure all are clean and clear. you may need to use a small piece of wire to push through jets and some good carb cleaner. drain gas and put fresh gas in and I would replace the spark plug because I am sure it's smoked up from running with the choke on

if your gonna do trail riding the raptor would hold up better as far as less rebuilds on the top end and a 700 or 660 raptor make good power
the honda 450r is my 2nd favorite quad cause they can make some serious power and they are so user friendly to work on
the 07 yfz has the better oil upgrade from the factory in the engine.

it's hard to tell you what quad to buy go test ride each one and buy what feel's best to you

just my .02
