anybody know anything about the rainbow people?, they are pouring in salt springs. we were told to keep our trucks locked while at the stores or gas stations in salt springs???
yeppers, they will rob you blind, heard many stories about suspecting them for stealing a variety of items through out the forest and camp grounds
Odie, My Mother lives in Salt Springs and told me about these people, the lowest of the low lifes. They live out in the Forest, live off the land, B.S. like that. Don't send their kids to school, just real dirty people. And yes, keep your stuff locked, or have someone stay in the truck while you go in the store.

I think they are staying at shanty pond just east of salt springs this year. there is a policeman in the stores keeping a eye on them,the big group will be there from 2-14-05 through march.they look like left over hippies from the 60`s????

I was camping at Big Scrub last Spring and someone stole helmets, gas cans, and tools from our site and several others. Ranger said it was probably the rainbows.
rainbows didnt steal it,locals did.park at the sink,walk up to take a swim left your stuff on your bike came back and it was gone???most dont have vehicles,never met one one a quad or bike.they are mostly good people.sounds like bigotry to me.there's n words and black folk.there's rednecks and good ole boys.etc,etc,etc....think it thru.

They've been coming around for at least 15 years that I know of, always about this time of year, very rarely do they have vehicles, and very rarely do they care about anything other than stealing whatever isn't bolted down.

My wife and I were up that way Wed. looking at property. We had lunch at the resturant by Elite. They were everywhere, we were about done eating when a group walked in and sat in the booth behind us. Let me tell you they were the stinkinest, nappyest, hairyest, discusting, nasty,nasty, nasty. We had to leave they stunk the place up so bad.

guess what, I found a group of them set up camp about 1/4 mile East of the little pond where we took the LMK Group Ride picture last year.
They are there and all dressed up in their hippie clothing, complete with the sandals.
I'm impressed though, it seems like this year some of them actually have money of their own because they have nice camping gear and one of them even has an old school bus :o

Rainbow people are a bunch of drugged out wannabe hippies. The group travels the country & stays in forests like this. These are the type of people who live in a tree to keep the lumberjack from cutting it down. I went to a Rainbow gathering about 13yrs ago in the ONF. I was with a bunch of friends from UF. These people have so many different types in the group it is silly. You have the hareKrishnas, the filthy unbathed women who are ...lets say au-naturale & harrier than an ape and the men with beards to their waist & hair to match. There are large groups of filthy nudists also. At night they all come to a clearing in the forest & build a HUGE fire & dance naked and drugged out all around it all night long to the beat of homeade leather drums. Trust me you wont get a treat looking at these nudists, unless you are into filth & hair all over. The year I was there a girl was raped & killed in front of her boyfriend who they tied to a tree in the forest & made him watch then killed him. IMHO this group is just trying to figure out how not to contribute to society in a productive manner & tons of derelicts & convicts on the run are in this group for anonymity.

i never said this was new they have been around since the early 60's. the fact that they signed the permit should tell you it was not real rainbows.they dont sign permits they never will.the guy that went ahead and signed the permit in the name of rainbows.is from the christian jesus rainbows or whatever they are called. this guy has been running it for years he is no rainbow.like i said all of the problems you guys are havin in ocala are from drifters,gutter punks, that slowly took over the ocala gathering over the years.
