Title: GM To Recall 804,000 Chevy Trucks/SUVS(1999-2002) Post by: Bigscrb15 on August 30, 2005, 07:27:16 PM I haven't heard this on the news yet but it says the Manufacturer just reported it on August 29th, 2005. If this is like every other recall you will probably have to wait until you get a notice from GM about this before they will fix it for free.

So 6 years later “Uhh Houston we have a problem.” Oh so now is when you want to fix it. I agree with Big Daddy…. it’s a scam. Maybe Fidel Castro is involved with it as well. It is a plot with Castro and Chavez. 1st gas prices. 2nd messing around with Chevrolet trucks. It is a direct attack on Cuban/ Latin Americans. My A66 brothers will take care of it! Sorry to get off topic a little but Big Daddy is right. Oh since we had these sensors off we noticed….

Working at a GMC dealership-PLEASE, PLEASE at least wait to the letters from GM to come out before calling the dealerships for appointments or repairs! It usually takes a month or two for the letters to start being sent out after the media alerts the public. The media usually jumps the gun, regardless of how small the recall issue might be. The dealerships do not receive the new parts or information on repair until about the same time they send the letters out to the customers with the involved vehicles. I had a '02 in last week with 150,000+ miles and front brakes were still at 7mm!! Rears were down to 4mm-customer requested we replace the rear brake pads-he still could've gone at least 10-20k miles on the rear pads!! I guess if you lived near the beach or go there a lot then it possibly could also.

This is an easy fix and Ford or Dodge did not put 4 wheel anti lock brakes on their trucks in 1999. They were standard on GM. Also as was 4 wheel disc brakes. How about the Ford trucks and SUVs catching on fire due to some electrical part under the hood shorting out. There is a problem there also. GM just has more ;D Title: Re: GM To Recall 804,000 Chevy Trucks/SUVS(1999-2002) Post by: Old_School on August 31, 2005, 09:27:37 AM It's only brakes. Who needs them? :D But I do seem to notice that GM has had alot of recalls lately. Damn quality of parts have gone downhill. The damn camaro was built in Canada. No wonder there not made anymore. Eh? -Mark
