Title: Rhino add-on lights question
Post by: Gato on January 29, 2009, 06:49:24 PM
I am thinking of adding some 55w fog style lights on the front bumper maybe 4 but am wondering if I sould change out the stator. If any of you can help or know please. on rhino 700

You would be OK running two 55w driving lamps.  I think if you run four 55w driving lamps PLUS you stock headlights you might be pulling more amps than your stock stator can put out.

A friend (shawnley1222) and I both run HID headlamps and its like day light in the darkest of night. no need for any other lights.

Yep dont even waste time or $$$ go with the HIDs esp since you were gonna plan on possibly gettting a HD stator just roll with the HIDs muddbuggy knows a guy in my camp has stock lights and Jstrong roof with the 4 lights and all he said(guy in camp) it looks like he has a flashlight with dead batteries and muddbuggy said it sure does when he looked back at both of us

But to answer 4 55watt lights I would upgrade the stator it will be a bit much a little ify I wouldnt want to risk it

yes that is us but that is not me I keep telling him to take those things off but he says it make it more stable. we call him Luke Duke cause he already flipped it on its side and now he is scared of it happening again. I was in the Camo

Nice pics I realy need to hookup with you guys on  a ride,My buddy and i
are looking to find others with sxs's to ride with.Traveling is np we got lots of trailers :).
But to answer the original question I think  replacing stock lights with 2 HID would be more than enough light.Second option is to buy a spot light mount and plug it into your 12v accessory plug.
