Title: trailering at twelve o clock Post by: gery350 on June 03, 2005, 01:46:02 PM question-has anyone trailered their bike at the 12 position. is it ok or are you risking engine damage(4 strokes). just got a whole lot of bikes and little trailer space. if i 12 them i can fit a whole ot more. has anyone had experience with this or doesnt recommend it. please help.

On my kaw it doesn't even require nor have a fuel off position. The only time I believe you have to drain the oil is if you plan on storing it that way over an extended period of time! My buddies polaris pred-the fuel line has to be shut off to trailer at the 12 o'clock position. Any doubt you could also check with your local dealer.

I did try to let them sit for a few minutes before starting to let any oil drain back down out of the top of the motor just to be safe.

Title: Re: trailering at twelve o clock Post by: lil_Mrs._Honda1 on June 03, 2005, 06:54:59 PM when we stood our 400 ex this summer we turned the gas off and pulled that lil tuby thing out of the tank pinched the ends and tie wrapped them. gas was leaking out of that tuby thing so had to tie them off. But we stored them like that for a few weeks to. Just let them sit a few minutes before you ride.
