Title: Diesal Oil for 4 wheelers? Post by: EVANSTURF on February 23, 2005, 07:56:44 PM Anyone ever use diesal oil for there quad? Would it stay cooler than regular oil?
Title: Re: Diesal Oil for 4 wheelers? Post by: Redgrizzly660 on February 24, 2005, 02:04:53 PM I used Rotella 15-40 in my quads because that what I used in my trucks and RV. Diesel engine are very dirty and require a high detergent motor oil. I am not sure if using a diesel motor oil is a good ar bad thing but I buy it by the gallons.

Post by: TOY_DOCTOR on March 05, 2005, 05:35:50 PM On the grizzly you could probably get away with it, (no wet clutch), on other engines that have a wet clutch you are better off to use a oil that is made for that application or premature clutch failure could occur..

Title: Re: Diesal Oil for 4 wheelers? Post by: IT200 on March 06, 2005, 03:45:19 PM You should allways use a premium pretroleum based oil in your quad engines. Oil is one of the primary coolants for the motor. Synthetic oils do not absorb or transfer heat the way petroleum based oils do causing your engine to run hotter.
