Once a month would sound good.. but with all the people having to make long drives, it will get pretty expensive. Every 2 months may be easier.

Once a month is good. Also what BIGWORM said is better. Only 19 hr. and 30 min. till I pull out for Rodman.

Well how about we do BOTH..... ;)
We can have the BIG rides (like Rodman I-V) every 3 months ....This will give those who have to travel long distances to get there more time to plan the trip....(This will also produce a larger turn-out)
THEN we can have Monthly rides for smaller more local groups: All jacksonville riders can go to Rodman, Osceola, Jasper, etc, Central FL riders can ride in their areas, and so on.... 8)

All bikes... not to much mud, unless it rains. Sport bikes that cant do the 88trip usually just hang out in the pit and drag race, build jumps, and go on smaller trail rides. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING is there.

What if we stick with doing a RODMAN IV type ride every three months........
And we could also just designate one weekend out of every month as a meeting time for the site. Like the last saturday of every month there could be a pre-arranged ride at Rodman or Scrub. Keep the weekend the same and change the place maybe ???

Thats a good idea, small rides every now and then and a big ride like rodman every 3-4 months, so the people that have a long drive can make it out for the big one, and the locals or diehards can be there for the smaller ones.
I like the big ride every 3-4 months and a monthly ride say the 3rd Sat. of the month but at different locations to keep it so everyone can plan ahead.
The idea of doing the group rides more often is a good Idea and so is riding out from different locations, Just tell me when and where to ride and I'll try and be there ;D
as far as the big rides go, none of us have any control over who shows or not. it depends on the individuals availible time and money. exapmle; scout ride had around 12, rodman I around the same, i dont remember how many showed for rodman II but i think it was between 15-20, but rodman III was big. its only months away before there are designated trails in ocala. every 2-3 months is too long, i like once a month.

Also, some of us are still in school, and love knida far from Ocala, so maybe it would be good to plan the Rodman rides on any 3 day weekends, or during spring break. More people would be able to come that way, since it's far away. ;D

Just a thought, we might want to have different location each time. Too much of a good thing at Rodman could lead to problems. I say we should spread it around between Rodman, Scrub and anywhere else there is room for that many trucks/trailers.

Once every 2 to three months is fine we have to take into consideration that we can burn those folks out there. sky is also right it does get expensive. and variety is also a good thing. I cant wait foe RODMAN V. Im so there !!!!!
I like the long weekend idea. Big ride every 3 months and smaller rides whenever people can get together. I like the idea of long weekend ride since that gives me an extra day to recover. Man am I sore today, going to have to start rideing more. ::) ::)

I don't think Big Scrub has a chance of holding over 250 riders from this site, plus the people that would be there anyways. I'm sure most people wouldn't want a Croom ride, too small/expensive. I'd like to go to the next ride that gets planned. There's a 3 day weekend with presidents day this time next month, that'd be a good weekend. And spring break is in about 2 months, another trip for that week or weekend. Hope I can make the next one. :P

I like the Idea of movin to Big Scrub or somewhere else that can hold that many ppl also...My .02
In my opinion, Big Scrub would be one of the worst places to hold a group ride. Not only would we have a ton of other people to deal with, but who here hates whoops? No one is going to want to ride on whoops all day long. Rodman, so far, is the perfect place to hold rides like this. I agree to much of a good thing is crazy, but we wont be pushing our luck when the ride is held every 3 months.
I agree with skyhigh, i never been to big scrub but whoops do get annoying after a while, and thats on a spot quad, i can imagine what it must be like on a ute. From what i have seen in the pictures of roddman, that pit looks great and the trail seem managable for all skill levels. By the way, nice pics from the latest ride, looks like it was alot of fun.

YEAH,YEAH,YEAH can we just go ride now when is Rodman V I say one ride every two months.These things take planning and you want to give people over there a time recooperate. And not to mention us too. How about we do rodman April 2nd's weekend not to hot not too cold and it gives people time to relax and get there stuff together. April 2 and 3rd RODMAN DAM V that even has a nice ring to it.
Seeing that the last group rides have fell on the 22nd and 23rd, lets keep it going.... April 23rd should be the next group ride (That way they are at least predictable)
I agree with you SKY April 23-24 sat and sun. Lets just see if we can get everyone to agree and get this ball rolling. What we have to do is stop talking and START PLANNING. RODMAN V back by popular demand April 23-24 Ocala National Forest. It should run itself just like this one with no problems.

Thought I would let you know there is a big bike event (like Daytona) that weekend in Leesburg.
Pick another weekend, please, so we can ride. We'll be riding our Harley's in Leesburg then.
Look. The bottom line is that we can't possibly accomodate everybody at all times. I have to admit, that there was nothing neater than seeing a couple hundred bikes all at one time but I didn't even get the chance to meet 1/4 of all the people that showed. I say we still get a large group every 3 months but still get several smaller group rides in between. Its quite obvious that there are alot of people now on this site and if anyone posts a group ride, there are bound to be a minimum of 30 -40 who will want to go. This has got to be one of the greatest experiences me and my family have had and I have met yet to meet anyone I don't like. The smaller rides allows us to really get to know people better. Keep them going.

April 23rd is great. Everyone who cant go.. sorry for your luck, but we'll catch you on the next one... or one of the smaller rides. The Admins are trying to keep these rides routine and predictable... every 3 months... 22-23 of the month.... that way, everyone knows when they will be even if they arent announced. With 2,000 people on this site... not everyone is going to be happy... It was the same thing with the Tshirt Designs... GirlieBlazer and I can tell you how stressful that was, especially when I was trying to design the shirts. Someone wanted them to look one way.. others wanted to add something, take something out.. change the color... UGH... enough.. this isnt grade school, lol. SORRY FOR VENTING.It's just that we cant please everyone at the same time... so we deal with what we've got and stick with a plan.

I think before we determine the dates for the group rides we should check the local events such as FTR , Mud Sweat & Gears Ect ....If we plan our event not to compete with other planned events we will add numbers to our group rides and it will add strength to our efforts and to the ATV brotherhood of Florida . Plus we can go to some of the other events .Cooperation and communication is the key to our success as a whole . Just my 2 cents .

Third weekend each month is MS&G. I like to go to both, and I know some folks have to choose. I know you can't accomodate everyone, but lets not compete with another ATV event so that we can go to both. Also it boosts the riders at both events. If you haven't been to MS7G, and you like the mud...well check it out. Fortunately April 23 is the 4th weekend of the month.

One thing for everyone to remember... this is NOT an every month occurance, such as MS&G, so no matter what, we are NOT competing with anyone else.
I'm not bustin chops or anything , I understand it is not monthly . But consider this , We had 300 say they were going , I know that you never get 100% turnout but I didn't realize we competed that weekend with Mud Sweat n gears and I think there was also a FTR race down here somewhere .I just think we would get a better turnout if there were no competing events that are targeted towards people of our nature . Not complaining , just an idea . And yes that dog looks like it could rip off a good one [smiley=Dead.gif]
I agree with Budman & JD only because Rodman wouldn't be as fun if half the crew didn't show. I have never been to Mud Sweat & Gears but it seems to be a big deal to a lot of people who like mudding. Well we could do it the last Saturday of every 3 months since it seems like a lot of people from the site go to Mud Sweat & Gears. Question is do we really need to schedule it out the rest of the year? Maybe we should just plan each one as we go one at a time like we did this one and keep it going with SkyHigh's original date for the 23rd. Besides hunting season is going to mess up our schedule again later this year and we might want to get a ride in each month for the last couple before the hunters are out :o
i'll be there in april for the rodman ride. i'm also planning to ride in march not sure on the weekend yet, but i would like to do a longer trail ride. like sky said you cant please everyone whats good for one isnt good for another. pick a direction and go.

We are up for April 23rd, it doesn't matter to us which weekend it is. Sky said it just right we can't please everyone on this site, we learned that with the shirts. And with April being so far away you should have plenty of time to plan this out. Thats giving you 3 months to plan, save money if you have to, or whatever else you might need to do.
As long as we don't switch it to the last weekend in March, as we will be in Georgia. (finally going to Durhamtown)
I know that you can't please everyone but many people from here that make the long drive to Rodman also like to go to MSG. It would be good to plan the rides around MSG. I am not talking about personal schedules, just other events that many from this site attend. I am in for Rodman Rides. I had a great time meeting so many people.
OK well if MS&G is the 3rd weekend then I beleive that means it is set for April 15th to the 17th so Rodman could still be on for the 23rd. This way the majority would still be happy since everyone can still show up and it's still set for April ;D
Yes, that works out very well. I hope that I can ride at Rodman this time. If my wife gets sick again, I know that I was not meant to ride there. Haha ! ;D

I just don't think you should take a picture of money and the go on this site and post it. What does that have to do with riding quads ??? A lot of others where probably wondering the same thing when he posted that.

I am only speculating here but being that I talk with Lake Mary Kid online sometimes I know his quad has been broken for quite a while and he is selling everything but his toothbrush to save money to fix it. I don't think his parents give him any money towards riding and right now because of financial reasons I don't think they can. Nightbreed has been working on his bike recently and I think LMK was just showing off what he had saved up towards paying to get it fixed since he's been pretty down about not being able to make the last couple of group rides. I remember when I was 15 and $300 seemed like a ton of money and I couldn't wait to brag about my financial status to all my friends, especially the ladies 8) I can see though how anyone who isn't familiar with his situation would take this the wrong way as if he were showing off since he failed to mention what the money or post was for. Hopefully next time he shows off it will be on his quad at Rodman V ;D

Well do you want to know it cause i will gladly tell you. Sorry for only being a kid who busts his ass just to get his quad running! Sorry i dont know anyone with "UNDER THE TABLE" or no my parents dont own there own business. Has anybody checked into if elite will give a discount. Last ride didn't ATVFlorida rent all of the cabins? And it looks like they might do it again. If they would just let us say we are with ATVFlorida and give discount just like with 5 cabins it would be nice. Maybe someone that has delt with them in the past could talk to them.

Hey yall, My brother and I and planning on attending this ride, it will be our first ride with the group. We have stayed at elite before, do our atvs have to be trucked out of the campground for the ride and park somewhere else or do we ride from the camground to the forest? Any info would be great, also, what do people do for extra fuel or are the gas stations on the trail or will my 5gal tank be enough for the day? I have been looking into this trip more and we are 100% sure we are going. Is there anywhere else people are staying other than elite? If not is there a way to get 10 people together to reserve the minimum 10 campsites for $16 instead of $32. Im excited to go Im just dying to get that vinson off the flat land by my warehouse and ride somewhere real.

No you are NOT allowed to ride from elite campgrounds. they must be trailored out . And there deff. not gas stations on the trails that are legal to ride on.

I have a set of 8' non-foldable ramps to load my atv with. When we get to the riding area, can someone let me store the ramps in their enclosed trailer so they dont get stolen or should I just chain them to the bottom of my truck?

To Get To Rodman Dam head North on hwy 19 past Altoona and enter the Ocala National Forest and keep going past hwy 40. On hwy 19 after 40 you will also pass an intersection on left (rd 314) keep going straight for approx another 20 minutes and you will pass over a small bridge/swamp keep going and then you will see a large sign on the left that says Rodman Campground, fishing, etc. In the background should be the start of a huge bridge so you want to turn before the bridge. Across the road there is a sign for a "Boy's Ranch" Turn left at the Rodman campground sign and follow the road down about 3 miles to parking area. Road dead ends into Rodman Pit.
If you pass the sign you will know because you will go over the "barge canal" a huge bridge. If so turn around go over the bridge and make your first right turn coming in that direction (south)

Ill second that. I think it was awesome that someone gave up their quad for the day and a sweatshirt to help out Mike's boy. And also giving him the fuel. Frankie and Tammy, it was great meeting you and I look forward to a ride at the campground you told us about soon.

I don't think so but I'll know more in a week. If I can make it Hopefully I will be able to bring the Rappy so I can show that sweeeeeet 2 stroke how a thumper runs. ;)
Yall dont plan anything for 2weeks away! Ill be going to georgia and I somehow got talked into flying instead of driving and delta wont let me check my quad onboard:( So if you planning a ride, do it in private so I dont have to hear about it, lol, j/k. I know Josh was still talking about going to the 42 campground that weekend and riding with yall but hes been really busy with the General Contractor exam, so Im not sure.
Sorry you have to go to Ga ,but tell josh come on he can study on sunday.... and let us know when you both can plan a weekend ride or day ride . tami
