Title: Baker County to develop riding area Post by: GrizzlyBear on May 11, 2007, 09:39:55 AM On Wed, I toured a 1650 acres with the OHV Committee on cty rd 125 by cedar creek, north of Glen St Mary that Baker County owns and is the process of developing into a ATV riding area. It will probably be a couple of years, but the County Commissioners are 100% behind the project.

Title: Re: Baker County to develop riding area Post by: GrizzlyBear on May 13, 2007, 09:42:41 AM They are looking at a trail system with destinations, like a picnic area by the St Mary's river. It will take 2 years to get the trails designed, get grants for amentities and built everything.
Title: Re: Baker County to develop riding area Post by: Paul_S on May 13, 2007, 10:14:36 AM This is great news. Do you think it will develop into something like Croom? There will be NO MORE places to ride like Croom, unless we act now with the state and feds, or open one ourselves. Did you read and respond to this thread: http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/index.php/topic,24397.msg301152.html#msg301152 Soon Florida will be home to the most extensive network of trails, that are going to be completely incompatible with the average atv user. Want to look at a particular leaf, then go for a pleasant 15 miles per hour ride to look at another kind leaf, our trail systems are going to be the finest. Want to ride faster or through some challenging terrain, drive to another state or help us plead our case. |
