Title: Disaster assistance: Post by: bmd11 on February 14, 2007, 05:06:07 PM I posted on here a few days ago regarding helping out with the relief of the victims from the Tornadoes. Well, Here's some info I'd like to pass out some info if anyone is interested:
Sorry, I haven't given you guys the updates... Here goes: We are planning a Car Meet and cruise in. We have a tenitive date of March 18th right now. I'm still putting the flier together, it's almost done. RedCross is supposed to be in touch with me tomorrow to set up for contributions, donations, and such. Here's what we have so far... Remember this is my first time doing ANYTHING like this, so please... bare with me. b:r 1.It will be a car meet with mostly classic and antique vehicles probably some bikes and imports too! I have had a great response so far! I'm planning on giving out dash plaques to the first 100 to register at $10.00 per vehicle. 2. $100.00 prize to the club with the highest turnout. 3. A breakdance competition ($100.00 winner). 4. Catering (not by me) hot dogs and hamburgers. 5. Local municipalities (police, fire, etc...) 6. Entertainment for kids (Slides, face paint, ballons, etc...). 7. Models with photo opportunity (forget it Quad) 8. TV & radio coverage. 9. T-shirts for sale. 10. Blood Drive. I'm sure I forgot something... Oh, yes... THERE WILL BE NO DYNO!! It's way too expensive, especially to try this for my first time - the boss would go crazy if I told him the price! This is all for Charity to benefit the victims of the Tornado disasters in central Florida. There will be no fee to spectate, but we will gladly accept all donations on the red cross' behalf. The location will be at: Space Coast Honda 1885 W. Hwy 520 (you may have to try King st.) Cocoa, FL 32926 You can mapquest it if needed. We need donations and volunteers, so please help out! I can email the flier with if anyone wants one I'm really pretty psyched about this! If anyone has any tips, questions, comments, allegations, or anything let me know! The event is really picking up steam and would be a great time for the entire family, lots of kids things and some great food as well as awesome cars, bikes and few surprises! All for a really great cause!

Not a huge amount of money... but the effort was worth it. I've learned fomr the experience And we'll probably do it again next year for the Red Cross!
