Title: Its done!! Check it out. Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 08:17:45 AM What do you think of the new look, i painted the red hood white to match the rest of the bike, the paint still needs to cure so i didn't put the yamaha emblem back on.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 08:18:26 AM here's what it looks like on the bike
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: Thrasher on January 18, 2005, 08:28:03 AM nice!
..where u riding up there near Garfield? I'm from Wood-Ridge myself. Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 08:33:11 AM nice, I hit up the medowlands alot, right now its a frozen swamp, about an inch of ice and then 2 feet of mud underneath. Me and my buddys get the bikes loaded up and take the trip out to Paragon Ap park in PA alot, thats the best riding ive ever seen and well worth the 2 hour drive. If you remember where jungle habitat was they are turning that into a atv park called extreme habitat but i won't be around for that, its still a while off. other then that the pickings are slim, and cops are getting worse, so there is really NO legal place to ride in jersey except for chatwroth, a horrible 200 acre atv park that charges $50 to get in.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: J.D. on January 18, 2005, 12:56:43 PM Cool.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: Thrasher on January 18, 2005, 02:44:16 PM Jungle Habitat, OMG, I forgot that place existed! but turning it into an ATV park? way cool!
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: SkyHighT100 on January 18, 2005, 03:11:19 PM Awesome hood! I like it a lot!
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 03:23:15 PM yeah man, its finally getting opened up to OHV use after 25years of fighting with the goverment, its the first and only major win in NJ for OHV/ATV users. Thanks skyhigh and J.D.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: Thrasher on January 18, 2005, 04:45:50 PM I have some pictures of me very young (i'm guessing around 1975 was the year) at Jungle Habitat somepalce...I remember the place tho...and going to it and driving among all the animals...i just did a google search on the place, it's demise was very very odd...simply abandoned and the animals let loose.
like I said, I totally forgot it even existed until you said it. :D Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 05:31:04 PM yeah, its been a place to go explore when your feeling adventerous, its all run down now, just woods and concrete, the animal buildings are still there, its one fo the NJ local "weird" spots, check out www.weirdNj.com and they have pictures of it.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: shadow on January 18, 2005, 06:22:55 PM tell me, what process do u take panting your plastics. Most i see starts to chip and peel with in weeks.
-shadow Title: Re: New look for my rappy Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 18, 2005, 06:28:06 PM Well what i did was follow the directions on the can, krylon fusion is made for plastic and it bonds to it after 7 days. The hood wasn't scratched up or old so i used some paint thinner and wiped it on with a rag. Let that dry and then start spraying, i did like 50 coats on the front and 30 on the back. Then you have to let it sit for 7 days to cure properly, for those pictures i just stuck it on there really quick, its in my living room right now curing. For older plastics some wetsanding and a wipe down with an amonia based cleaner will do the trick. You just have to wait for the full 7 days.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 19, 2005, 05:55:35 AM New race cut fenders, what do you think?
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 19, 2005, 06:00:02 AM and heres the front :)
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 19, 2005, 06:26:01 AM Im still cleaning them up and doing some sanding, i just wanted to get some pics up, a progress report so to speak.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 20, 2005, 05:08:26 AM Got the rattle can out again, decided to paint my headlight trim white since its not covered by the fenders anymore.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: LakeMaryKid on January 20, 2005, 05:37:57 AM dude give it up and get down here and do mine next! I want black though ;D J/p Bro now lets see all this together with them L.E.Ds
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 20, 2005, 05:40:48 AM Give it time to dry, that paint needs 7 days to cure, so next week i sould have good full bike shots. Throw in a 12 pack of bud ice and you got yourself a painted bike.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: jbbj220 on January 20, 2005, 08:48:03 AM Man you got the time to do those things. It is rideing all year down here. Going to be 60 today and not a cloud in the sky, and that is in the north. ;D ;D ;D
I like what you are doing. ;D Jim, Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: 1slowfox on January 20, 2005, 08:49:49 AM What kind of paint did you use ? I used krylon fusion on my tank cover , I 'am going to redo it when it warms up a bit ..
The fenders look great , I grew to like my fenders very quickly .. Believe me its something you wont regreat ! ED Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 20, 2005, 08:58:27 AM I used fusion too, gloss white. Yeah man i have too much time, its 22 degrees outside, and were expecting more snow into the weekend, a big northeaster is coming and probably is gonna dump 6 inches on saturday, im trying to camoflage my bike white so when i go out riding the cops won't see me as much :) j/k
Thanks Jim and Ed, ill have the final results up soon enough. Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 20, 2005, 09:31:01 AM Heres a look of the headlights assembled after paint

Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 20, 2005, 09:51:32 AM Rattle can krylon fusion for plastic, so far i went through 1 can and started on the 2nd midway through the headlights, not to bad for 10 bucks in paint and some (too much) time.
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: Its_a_Jeep_thing on January 20, 2005, 06:25:31 PM one question... WHY?
Title: Re: New look for my rappy UPDATE Post by: VelociRaptor350 on January 21, 2005, 03:03:01 AM Because its currently 8 degrees outside and with the windchill it feels like 0, and im trying to make my bike stand out a little
