Title: My wife's and I new toy ( A miracle ) Post by: Thrumud on February 19, 2005, 10:46:45 PM On Feb 17th a miracle from the Lord happen that I would like to share with you guys. At 39 weeks, almost full term, my wife and I arrived at Memorial West in Pembroke Pines when she felt a strong pain. Thinking she was having contractions, they admitted her. About two hours later (screaming in pain) she was rushed into a room where they told me I could not enter. What happen was that the baby was under so much stress that her (baby) heart rate drop to 60, for those of you who know that's almost death. The baby was born by c-section 3 minutes later. Perfect healthy girl, but then my wife was rushed to another room. The doctors didn't want to tell me what was happening because they really didn't know. My wife's liver and kidneys stop working all of the sudden and her heart rate was out of wack 162 over something. I was watching my wife dying and she didn't even see her daughter yet. To make a long story short, God performed a miracle and saved both my wife and my daughter that day and I am proud to say, because of him, I am a DAD ! I ask that you please pray for my wife, she is not doing well. Because of the pregnancy she developed a rare condition called AFLP, better known as Acute Fatty Liver of Pregnancy. 1 in 13,000 pregnant women get this condition and it can be fatal. There is potential recovery but its a very slow process. When she recovers (with the help of the Lord), she should be fine. Along with my family we ask for your prayers. Thank you so much.

Having to deal with this and a baby who wants food every two hours has to be tough. Keep your chin up and take your family and friends up on offers for help. I'm sure you can use it. There's light at the end of this tunnel and the joy you will soon experience will surpass all of this! Praise the Lord ! My wife is doing alot better than before. Sorry I was not able to update you guys, been staying at the hospital. These pass few days have been the worse and the best days of my life. I want to thank my family, friends and all you guys for your prayers, THANK YOU SO,SO MUCH ! My baby girl is doing great, I just have a hard time watching the moms & dads leave the hospital with their baby, I can't wait to have my life back. Doctors say Jennifer (my wife) has to stay a few more days so they can monitor her progress. Her liver should be back to normal within days and she can live a normal life. This disease is so rare in pregnant women that doctors from Jackson Hospital, Miami University and Broward General have been involved in my wife's case. I did some research on this fatal disease and in most cases baby and mom don't make it alive. My wife had less than 50 % chance of making it. Its been so stressful these couple of days but with all your support I was able to pull through. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart and thank you Lord. Here is a picture taken today.
