Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: HondaBoys on October 07, 2006, 09:11:26 PM It's muzzleloading season out there right now, so beware the hunters.
Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: AintSkeered on October 08, 2006, 09:08:52 AM It sucks out there right now, flooded. You'll be pulling each other out of the water every few minutes.
Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: crom A zone on October 08, 2006, 08:46:49 PM not true rode all day long today and the only people that were getting pulled out all day long were the people on sport bikes not the utilyty 4x4
Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: rancher4lyfe on October 17, 2006, 02:18:03 PM YOU GOTTA HAVE A FLAG TO RIDE THERE NOW!
Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: Thrumud on October 17, 2006, 02:28:49 PM Last I heard you MUST have a flag or you will be told to leave. The flags are not standard, banner on a pole must be 10x12. Don't ask me why, that's what the fwc said last time we were there.
We should ask Mr. Bones to have some made with ATVFLORIDA logo. Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: rancher4lyfe on October 17, 2006, 02:39:23 PM We should ask Mr. Bones to have some made with ATVFLORIDA logo.
THAT WOULD BE A REAL GOOD IDEA. I WOULD BUY ONE! Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: HVYHLR53 on October 17, 2006, 04:11:46 PM No, hunting season is not over. Yes, Holylands is open to ride, but ATVs are restricted to the levees and the trees by the parking area. The south levee (high side) is closed and the area to the south of that (which is underwater anyway). The treed area to the north is still open to ride, although they did start some construction beyond the east set of trees (the area accessible from the north parking area). They blocked it off with large concrete blocks, not sure what they were going to stop with those!
The rest of the levees are open from the 1st pump house going north (both sides of canal) and going west to the wood bridge and beyond to the reservation. There is still plenty of riding to do and plenty of mud to swim through. As far as flags.... you do need them to ride. The law does require the 10x12's, but they are not hassling you about the triangle ones which seem like the only ones that you can find around here. Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: Thrumud on October 18, 2006, 09:30:40 PM By the way, when is hunting season over ?
Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: alex821 on October 20, 2006, 10:00:42 AM The last time I was there was the ranger told me that it was closed (levees only) until Feb 5, that when hunting season was over. But this link seems to contradict that so if anyone has any other news, please let me know, I'm dying for some mud. Levees just don't do it for me.

Don't go until hunting season ends on 11-19-06. Title: Re: Holylands ridable? Post by: HVYHLR53 on November 06, 2006, 01:43:54 AM My friends and I are out there every weekend. The only area that you cannot go into is the south side of the high levee which is unridable anyway. There is still plenty of riding areas and some nice mud too. The area south of the high levee will still be unridable to most people even after hunting season.... but we will damn sure try!!
