Title: Re: Columbia County (FL Statute 316.2123) Post by: senioratv on September 26, 2006, 02:37:28 PM The ordinance that Columbia County adopted states "The Board of County Commissioners of Columbia County, Florida believes it is in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Columbia County, Florida to exempt Columbia County from the provisions of Section 316.2123, Florida Statutes,..."
During the discussions however, the main topics discussed were the damages to county unpaved roads that ATVs cause, the transfer of state liability to the county, and the lack of definition in the statute as to what is supervision with respect to minors who ride ATVs. When it comes to supervision of youth for any reason, there should not need to be a statue common sense should tell you to watch your children and be a active part in their lives. Title: Re: Columbia County (FL Statute 316.2123) Post by: Teej on October 03, 2006, 09:05:40 AM Suwannee County is having a public meeting for exemption. I "THINK" it is next Tuesday Oct. 10th at 7pm. Law enforcement is stating Suwannee County has too many dirt roads to enforce the laws.
