Title: Who to call if you need law enforcement at ONF Post by: stacktester on May 15, 2006, 10:03:03 PM We had some yahoo's spinning donuts and lighting off fireworks Saturday night when we stayed at big scrub in the sand area near the back gate. We were only about 1 of 3 campers in the whole place and it wasn't a good idea to confront anyone especially at 2:30 a.m. These guys were drunk and obnoxious. I asked a ranger about who to call if something did happen out there and she said call FWC. There are 2 officers on duty 24 hours and she said had we called they would have come out within minutes. I will be looking for a number and post it when I get it. Wouldn't hurt to have a Nextel # if that's what they use. Oh and by the way, the money from our $50 title fee is somehow paying for them to be on duty. Hopefully this is true. I recommended that emergency numbers be posted out there. Calling 911 from a cell phone might not get the job done. Marion Co. Sheriff and FWC numbers need to be posted at each campground and on that OHV rule list they hand out.

I know he is always vigilant at turning off my generator at 10:01 at night. I've called the Marion County Sheriff's office before from the campground. They had an officer at our trailer about twenty minutes later. We believed some other campers stole some of our gear, tools, and gas cans. When she went to ask them if she could look around in their trailer they refused and left. She told us there was nothing she could do.
