Title: Tires - 18 vs 20 Post by: UncleRico on February 26, 2006, 12:23:18 PM I'm thinking of switching tires on my 450r.
Besides lowering the center of gravity, is there any other benefit from switching to 18" from 20" in the rear? I was looking at the Holeshot MXR6 from ITP. Does anyone have an opinion on these tires? Thanks Uncle Rico Title: Re: Tires - 18 vs 20 Post by: tony pitts on February 26, 2006, 12:26:35 PM what are you looking for mx or trail
Title: Re: Tires - 18 vs 20 Post by: 2006YFZ450 on February 26, 2006, 12:40:54 PM It will be easier for the motor to turn 18's than 20's. You'll get better traction. Better acelleration. If you have aftermarket shocks & a-arms you'll get a better feel of your suspenion. Better cornering if your getting 20's for the front. That's all that I can think of if your going to ride or race MX ;)

smaller tires, better acceleration, lower acceleration, and looks nice :D i run mxr4 front and back, 20 front, 18 rear, love it. Title: Re: Tires - 18 vs 20 Post by: yamaha350r on February 27, 2006, 10:03:39 PM alot more acceleration with the 18 rears and keep the front size but get the new tires
