lawn mower ???

me and my friends have this lawn mower, murray 20 hp v twin , not sure on the year i would guess 2002+   doesnt start :' , after working on it for a while i looked at the pistons and found out that one of them wasnt moving , i push i back a little to see if it had siezed or anything and it slid fine, is something not put togethert or broke or what ??
