Any suggestions on buying a GPS for under 200 bucks? I had a Garmin 12 but lost it in the woods last week.   |

Wilburz-For under $200, you probably won't get much memory for maps. WalMart and BestBuy have the Garmin eTrex Legend for $169.00. I am a serious Garmin fan.

The Legend is a good unit.I have one and like it. The only downfall is the screen is fairly small. |

does the legend have a good antenna, I guess what I am asking is does it still locate itself when moving on an atv? The old one I had would lose connection when traveling faster than a walking pace.   |

I've got the Venture, and assuming it has the same antenna, I have absolutely no trouble with mine in car, boat or ATV. It is a great unit, just that the screen is very small. |

If you would be willing to go just over $200, you might want to consider the Garmin Rino 120.  GPS, radio with 5 mile range, and if you have 2 or more they locate each other so you can navigate to another rider.  A few people had them on the group rides I went on and I thought they were pretty slick |

I have the cheapest Etrex they make.  Paid $100 for it.  I use it on my four wheeler, and I use it on my 78mph boat with no problems.  It may not have all the bells and whistles as more expensive ones, but hell, I don't know how to use all the stuff that's already on this one.  If it tells me where I am, where I've been, and where I want to go, I'm good. |

I was going to say what he said.  I have a GPS and I am putting the rhino on my xmas list.  It's not under a hundred bucks but you know what they say.  You get what you pay for. |

etrex legend, I strap it on my gastank with a bungee and it never looses signal or battery off of 2 AA's for an entire weekend of riding (usually about 5-7 hours a day)
and I have the entire topo map of ONF loaded into it without problem.

I have and etrex legend with topo and a ram mount. I love it. It is the finest, cheapest mapping unit out there. I got a few tracks from a nice guy on this forum in the ONF and completed a 60 mile ride without ever getting lost. It was my first time riding in Ocala. This GPS made the trip possible. I found the best price at Walmart.com |

Willburz I dropped this in the water when I was stranded in big cypress and it floated right to the top. I think overall it is a very rugged unit. The compartment for the batteries has got an o ring seal. The only thing MrsPurelogic pulled up the wrong one. I got mine at best buy for $165 and had a $30 dollar rebate. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000064184/104-6392059-6071159?v=glance&n=172282&s=electronics&v=glance    I absolutely love it and it is very very accurate and I use at highway speeds sitting in the cup holder and never loose a signal. |

Willburz I literally took mine right out of the box and put it to use. I never had to buy any of the maps or updates. And it has “some” of the state highways and roads already stored on it and it records everything.
