man, latest advisory(11:00 pm) is got that d@mn thing coming straight for my house(i literally live on the dade/broward line). i normally wouldnt make a big deal about it but i still got a tarp on my roof from the previous one earlier this year. still fighting with the insurance company. my concern is the wind tearing it off. i have it attached with ferring strips and screws. i'm thinking of putting sandbags on it to prevent the wind from making a giant parachute out of it and exposing my roof. any other ideas would be appreciated. thanks.......

As long as you have it nailed down and secure it should be alright. Check for any "pockets" that air could get in and rip off the tarp. Sand bags would not be a bad idea if you have any handy.

what you do is get two rolls of tar paper start at the point of the house and roll long ways.then over lap on both sides of the paper going down the pitch till you cover the spoth that need to be fixed.this works great and is a fast temp fix.

This is why I wanted the toy hauler before this weekend. The plan was hook it up and head to Key West for the next couple of days.

Thanks Gery I appreciate it. With out faith & Jesus me and my wife would not be here. I know that everything happens for a reason. And usually good comes out of catastrophes. And I also have faith that the angels are watching your house as well. Thinking about you being Cuban you may also have a couple of veletas lit next to San Lazaero!

Thanks for not taking it personally/offensively. I have relatives that believe in that stuff and they called me to tell me to light the candles and spray some rum on him. Oh and the cigar too.

Amen!! Getting it out now! Gery...if you only knew the "suggestions" my mother in law makes....lighting the candles....putting a glass of water, with a strip of brown paper bag with the name of the person you want to make peace with....along with the white of an egg and letting it sit for a week. Ever heard of that one? Good luck in the storm...it's REALLY picking up here.

Good luck in the storm...it's REALLY picking up here. how about the everwatchful eye you see when you walk into peoples houses. my neighbors got a "shango" black character about 3 feet tall in his hallway. i swear i saw him looking at me the other day. maybe cause i took the twenty they had wrapped around his belt. oh and the water think with the name i've heard is when you want to cause chaos to that person. i tell people dont mess with me cause i am a son of god and you dont want to have to answer to my dad.
