Ripped off is a term that I don't think I'd use.  Are we paying more than WE think is fair - yes!  Are we paying more for existing gasoline based on a news report or  a ship leaking- yes!  Will the cost of a gallon of gas ever go down - NO!
A lot of the world has been paying considerably more per gallon than we ever have.  Case in point - right now it is $1.50 per liter in Germany.  That is $6.00 per gallon US.  Granted this isn't Germany - but we are not entitled to cheap gasoline just because we are born in the US.  It is long past time for us to move towards other reliable means of fueling our needs and toys!

well i think it is time to start riding elec. golf carts to and from work then pull our quads to the sweet spot :)

YamahaWarrior350

I saw gas in Macidonia at $4.50 a gallon most cars their run on propane or LPG

jbbj220

Yes we do pay to much for gas. I do not mind that the oil companys make money but I saw on TV news the other night that they made between 17% and 32% profit last year and that they expect to see that double this year. When we are paying as much for gas as we are and they are makeing that much money then we are being RIPPED OFF. Most small businneses would be happy to make the profit that they do every year.

Just my 2 cents.

   Jim,
you don't stop rideing because you get old, you get old because you stop rideing

BUT YOU GOT TO REMEMBER ALOT OF COUNTRIES THAT YOU PAY
TOP MONEY FOR GAS.... BECAUSE YOU GET FREE STUFF IN RETURN
LIKE IE HEALTHCARE!!!! ID BE HAPPY TO PAY  6 BUCKS A GALLON
IF ALL MY MEDICAL STUFF WAS FREE.....  HMMM

Njoutlaw88

I know it sucks. 2.80 is the price here. Theres nothing we can do except realize that you are republician created this problem. If gorge and jeb weren't friends with the oil companys we would be paying around 1.70 a gallon.

If you are willing to pay $6.00 a gallon if your medical is free you must have some serious health issues. When I go to the doctor I pay cash, and it's usually once a year. I fill my tank a couple times a week. Screw free medical care.

Not to mention, The oil rigs in the Gulf have been shut down and evacuated so prices will go up for sure.

would you please explain your logic?

Everyone I have heard say this cannot come up with an explanation, only accusations, I'd like someone to explain this way of thinking for once so that we all can understand.

It's only going to get worse now due to Katrina. We have so many off-shore oil rigs in the gulf that had to be abandoned because of the storm (no telling for how long). They are saying now that gas could go up another .30 because of it.... I spent $70 in gas from Friday night to Monday morning, just this past weekend, I cant imagine much more, lol. At $9 an hour... $70 is over 8 hours of my time at work... OUCH!!!

Katrina made it even better in the panhandle $3

SkyHighT100

Can we tap into the reserves now?? lol. This is just another reason why we need to continue investing in off-shore drilling. If more areas would allow it, then an event like this wouldnt be so catastrofic to oil production.

Just another reason to tell enviormentalists to shove it! HAHA.

We need to boycott gas for a couple of months so they drop the D*** prices.

You will still have to buy gas at the end of those couple months and while they arent making any money during that time, they will have to raise their prices and you will end up paying for it one way or another.
