92 polaris 350 2 stroke 4x4

Buddy has one that seems to have blown a head gasket?
Coolent in coming out the tail pipe.... The gasket kits are cheap enough,but how hard are they to change out?
How prone to this problem are these quads?
The thing starts right up and runs and sounds tight.
I'm thinking of buying it so all your input is helpful.
