maybe they live in a place where cobra's are everywhere, and kids need to be tought at a young age how to deal with them, kinda like kids and water in florida...you're smart to teach them to swim as early as possible.  many people in these countries live in mud huts with no doors/windows...snakes probably wonder in all the time.  or maybe they're teaching the kids to be a snake charmer, as mentioned.   i didn't notice the snakes mouth open, so I assume it was fastened closed, so no potential harm

theres rattle snakes all over florida...so next time i see one i'm gonna take my neighbors baby and teach it how to roll around on a blanket and have a picnic with a deadly rattler  so he can learn at a young age...that way he will be well prepared to be a snake charmer fresh out of pre k .....
