I also own a dvx mad cat!! It will for sure smoke a stock 400ex I dont mean to sound cocky but I have to tell the truth! I smoked a stock 400ex by almost 100 yrds out in the rodman pit like three times I guess the kid didnt learn from the first roost!

What mods do you have on your Cat to make it beat another stock 400 by 100yds? Did the person on the 400ex know you two were racing? Because 100 yds is not believable!

Ive smoked raptors two different times on my z4oo, and with my fmf powercore 4 and k&n lid i can beat yamaha 450 s all day on a drag strip. But on mx tracks it really matters on the rider. Ive seen a guy on a blaster make a guy on a kfx look stupid on a short mx track.

You're thinking of the KFX 700. It has a controlled variable tranny. The
KFX 400 is the exact same as the Z 400 and DVX 400

The DVX, KFX, and Z400 are IDENTICAL other than plastics. Those three bikes are all faster than the 400 EX all day any day stock bike against stock bike. So if you're asking which one is faster there isnt a definite answer. If you're considering buying a new bike go check out the DVX, KFX, and the Z400. If price matters go get the DVX. If not, still go buy the DVX. If you're just asking b/c you're curious, the triplets are the fastest of the stock 400's on the market today.

he is moving up here to citrus county area and his dad is gonna let him get a quad and he was just wondering what the fastest 400 was, but at the moment he wants a kfx400
and even know the dvx is cheeper he dont want anything to do with artic cat, so well i guess he is gona get the z400 or kfx400

Gary, you think that huh? Well when we go to croom we will see now wont we? Personally i love the handling of the 400ex and top speed really does not matter. How many times are oyu really going to top it out? Personally handling is where i look. Top speed is only payed attention to in Desert Racing. So id go with the best handling and such.

just curious why doesnt your friend want anything to do with Arctic Cat? Bad Experience or is he scared of getting too much of a good thing?

If it's completely stock it's slower than the triplets down the stretch....but that doesnt mean it wont hang through the corners!! It's still a good bike.....I was just answering the question at hand. No knocking your bike. Mine isnt the best out there either!!
