Mr. cowboy this is open discussion so I guess I can post what I want. Maybe it is your job not to read my posts. If Ida wants a better job no amount of praying is going to get him one. Do you think Bill Gates prayed to be a billionaire so God made him one. I don't think so. You want a better job with more pay you have to work for it. Go to school, educate yourself.  You have to work for it. Figure out what you want to do and set your sights on that.  Good jobs don't fall in your lap you have to do some digging to find one.  At any rate if God is doing all these magical things then why hasent he done anything to stop all the killing of hundreds of thousands of people in Chad and Sudan.  you are right we should not pollute Ida's thread with this argument we should start a new one.  Like I said if you want to talk about God let's start a religion forum. Please forgive me I have to go watch the 700 Club now. Sorry Ida I won't pollute your post again.

forgot to mention that this job doesn't pay regular overtime,,,,,,let's see if I can explain this well enough for everyone.

let's say you make $10 per hour.

then for a 40 hour week you would make $400 total.

Let's say you worked 10 hours of overtime, this would mean with most companies you would make $15 an hour for those 10 extra hours worked,,,,not with this company.

What they do is combine the total of 50 hours you worked that week and the $400 you would have made working 40 hours and then divide it by 50.  This turns out to $8 per hour,,,,,they then split that in half to $4 per hour.

So, assuming a base pay of $10 per hour, if you work 50 hours in one week for this company, they pay you a total of $440 for that 50 hours you worked instead of $400 you would have made if you only worked 40 hours.

Really makes you want to put in the overtime huh?

Id@

Ida, I don't know how legal that would be. May be worth checking into if your job says that your to make $10 per hour.

heads over a barrel,,,completely legal because my industry by federal law doesn't have to pay overtime if you are salaried,,,,which I am.

Im real sorry to hear these stories about these employment problems. I do not want to freak anyone out here but the Good Lord is in charge of the day to day trials and tribulations as well as everything else. We all have been at the end of our rope before. When things go haywire I usually take a moment off and ask him what I should do and then I would wait for him to take over my thoughts and let The Lord lead me in that direction. Its not majic, its faith. Let him sort it out. Its a lot easier that way.

ditto brother, praying for ya

very well put Dave!!!

you will find very few people like their jobs.im self employed and still dont like working. i found that i just cant work for anyone. i just got tired of putting money in someone elses pocket for the hard work i did. even being self employed has its drawbacks. they dont say   hey lets go to fun   they call it work for a reason. usually it works your mind more than your body. personally  my time is worth way more than money to me  thats why i only work from 8 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.im home no later than 2:30. i still only bring home 6 to 8 hundred a week but it really is worth being home early  that way im home when my son gets home from school and we have the rest of the day to do the stuff we enjoy.if i worked a few more hours a day i would make alot more money but i just cant justify it .half theproblem with kids these days is that they are left alone or with someone you dont really know and are allowed to run wild.i will never do that. i would seriously try finding some kind of self employment  if you are good at fixing computers there are alot of ways to start your own bussiness.  then you dont have to deal with the bullsh$t that comes with working for someone else. usually its the politics at work that really start to wear on people.  johny makes more money than me  or someone gets promoted that dosnt deserve it and i got passed by  stuff like that.  working for yourself is the only way to go  check into it  you may find it easier than you think

I have an idea that I know is not a unique way to go, but I'm sure it would take me a little while to gather the client base enough to support myself,,,,and while I do that, I can't be working a full time job, so I'm kinda stuck at the moment unless someone has another way for me to pay the bills while I gather clients enough to support myself.

IDA- Sorry I did not intend to turn your employment situation into a religious discussion. I was just laying out what I do when the $#it hits the fan for me. I hope and Pray things turn around for you. There is plenty of computer/networking jobs available in Broward county. I know 2 people who own their own companys and can not find reliable technitions. Again, I am sorry for starting that little skirmish, its amazing how people get offended over something they feel does not exist. Good luck to you.

If he calls that number, the lawyer calls his job, now he is going to be out of work.
